Machina Fortress
#SDMM-EN001 You can discard Machine-Type monster(s) whose total Levels equal 8 or more to Special Summon this card from your hand or Graveyard. When this card is destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard, select and destroy 1 card your opponent controls. When this face-up card you control is targeted by an opponent's Effect Monster's effect, look at your opponent's hand and discard 1 card from their hand.

Monday
Machina Fortress, a new monster, from the new
Machine Structure Deck.
We have a Level 7, Earth attributed, Machine-type
monster, with 2500 attack and 1600 defense. 2500
attack is a reasonably solid number for Level 7...
Now, you can discard Machine-type monster(s)
whose total Level equal 8 or more (yet this card is
Level 7) to Special Summon this card from your Hand
or Graveyard. Awesomeness, in a word. Being able to
Special Summon ones-self, from anywhere, let alone
both places adds versatility to this card.
When this card is destroyed by Battle, which it
likely will at one time or another, but knowing that
if this happens, you get to destroy a card your
opponent controls, so be on the watch for a non
Battle destruction for this card...
Finally, when this card is face-up and controlled
by you, your opponent gets punished if they use an
Effect Monster to try and do something...you get to
look at your opponent's Hand, and discard one card
to their Graveyard.
Machinists...you PLAY this card.

Machina Fortress
This is the start of Machina Mayhem week and I
hope you all like it, cuz this Structure Deck
actually took me by surprise. Todays card is Machina
Fortress, a level 7 EARTH Machine with 2500 ATK and
1600 DEF. The stats are actually only alright,
technically thee stats are far worse than the Dark
Magician, and he has not seen top tabletime in a
long time if ever.
The effects are that you can discard 8 levels
worth of Machines in order to Special Summon it to
the field from your hand. If it would be targeted by
a monster effect, your opponent discards a card and
when it is destroyed by battle you destroy an
opponent's card.
These are all kinda meh effects, but when
combined with the right Machina support, you can
bring him out very easily. The gearframe searches it
out and the soldier can Special Summon it. It is
also very hard to kill because of all of the Union
monsters that are inherently in the deck to begin
with.
There are some pretty cute combos you can do with
this card, but they are all very dependant on
drawing the right machines at the right time. If it
was level 8 or had 2600 ATK and was able to take
down Stardust, it would be a lot better, but as it i
it would make a very fun, quasi competitive deck.

Machina Fortress ...
What a good card to start off the week. And right
off the bat - u can see how good this card is ...
not from what it can DO, right away ... but in what
Konami DIDN'T make the card ... specifically - MF is
level 7, not level 8. And it's Earth, not Light. Had
it been these 2 things in addition to what it
ALREADY is, it would have been a ridiculous problem,
and banned with the quickness. As it is, u can see
the balance they offered this monster, making it
just a really REALLY good card.
2500 ATK - can outfight all but the BIG heavies
of monsters. Can be special summoned from the hand
OR graveyard by discarding machine type monsters
equaling up to 8 or more stars. Awesome Awesome. If
he himself was 8 stars ... well, u can see the
problem he'd create THERE, no? And let's not forget
trade-in! ... actually - yes. DO forget it, cuz they
made him Level 7. So he's relatively easy to bring
to the field AND resurrect again even if he's
destroyed. And if he DOES get destroyed by battle, u
can then destroy one card your opponent controls.
Super awesome. Want more? - well MF has got it. His
last trick is that if he gets targeted by an
opponent's effect monster - u can peek at your
opponent's hand and also discard a card.
God, what's not to love???
U'll be seeing him a lot. And i just know there is
one or several OTK's lurking with this thing.

Machina Fortress starts off the week, the new
structure deck ultra rare, level 7, earth, 2500
attack that can be special summoned from the hand by
discarding machine monsters from your hand whos
total levels equal 8 or more. When its destroyed in
battle you can select and destroy a card your
opponent controls, and when its targeted by a effect
monsters effect, you can look at your opponents hand
and discard a card from it. Doing much of anything
to remove it from the field can put the opponent in
a somewhat tight situation. If targeted by a monster
effect, they lose a card from their hand plus their
hand is now known by their opponent. If its
destroyed in battle, they lose any card on the
field. For a structure deck ultra, its actually
pretty decent. You can discard Ancient Gear
Gadjiltron Dragon to easily drop Fortress, and with
Geartown if Geartown is destroyed you can summon
Dragon right back. Also if you have Machina Armored
Unit on the field and a Ancient Gear Gadjiltron
Dragon is destroyed, anything with 2900 or less
attack from the deck that is Earth Machine-Type is
summonable, including Fortress. Theres a lot you can
do with Fortress, definately a good card.
