Djinn Prognosticator of Rituals is a fun little
card. You can remove him from your Graveyard
for a Ritual Summon, which is unique in itself.
Then, when your Ritual Monster summoned via this
card inflicts Damage to your opponent, they have to
select and discard one card. I like it, and if
you're playing Rituals, go for it. It does
help speed your Deck up a little.

Djinn Prognosticator of Rituals
This is one of the newest of the Djinn monsters that
are used to help out the Ritual deck. This little
guy has 400 ATK and 300 DEF on a 3 star DARK Fiend.
These stats are not nearly as impressive as those of
the previous Djinns, and I have to say that they
actually had stats to go along with their effects.
The effect is the standard Djinn effect, you can
remove it from play for the Ritual Summon of a
Ritual monster. It also gives a bonus effect to the
monster that it ritual summons, giving it a Don
Zaloog effect of discarding a card, but of your
opponent's choice.
This card is easily the wrost of the Djinn monsters.
The other 3 are far superior in terms of the effect
they give as well as stats. If you REALLY want to
run him go ahead, but it is just not worth it at all
in my opinion.

Djinn Prognosticator of Rituals …
Another of the Ritual Fiends … This one is very meh
… used for a ritual summon (and, like the others –
can be removed from the graveyard from play, to do
so), if that ritual monster inflicts battle damage,
your opponent discards a card. This is an OK effect
… but not super great. For one thing – god forbid u
are up against Dark World – u will be screwed to
make use of this. Even if u are NOT facing Dark
World, your opponent will just set their spells and
traps, so they don’t wind up having to discard
anything valuable. Assuming u ritual summoned a
monster with high ATK points … inflicting direct
damage is a great enough bonus as it is … but
chances are, aside from the turn that u ritual
summon the monster, your opponent will not allow
this and just continue to set DEF position monsters
to protect their lifepoints, until they can come up
with a solution. This means that u are NOT
inflicting battle damage and NOT getting the effect
from Djinn. Now had his effect been – “… every time
u destroy an opponent’s monster and sent to the
graveyard, your opponent discards a card …” – that
would have been better.
But … nope.
Outside of his effect, he’s virtually useless.
Terrible attack and defense. And even as a level 3
monster to be used for Ritual summoning, he’s not
very good. The Releaser is level 3, and she’s the
best of the bunch. Stick with her.

Well, its fitting that today is a Djinn monster,
with Garlandolf being Monday's review.
Prognosticator is a decent monster out of the Djinn
monsters but probably second to last when it comes
to the order of which ones are good. Releaser of
Rituals, then Cursenchanter take the first and
second slots. Disserere is third, then
Prognosticator and finally Presider. Prognosticator
allows your ritual monster to basically have a
Spirit Reaper ability causing the opponent to
discard a card whenever the ritual monster inflicts
damage. This isn't a bad effect however Releaser and
Cursenchanter are the best Djinn monsters to use in
your ritual decks, so if you are going to build a
decent ritual deck, use Releaser and Cursenchanter.

Djinn Prognosticator of Rituals:
Ok, I know I said I would give more Ritual support
unfairly high scores, but not this guy. This
card just gets outdone by Djinn Releaser, the far
superior level 3 Djinn card. Releaser's effect
and stats are infinitely better than
Prognosticator's. While adding a Don Zaloog
type effect to a monster is nice, hand control just
doesn't seem to matter as much as field control
anymore. This card is by no means unplayable,
as most of the time you want to be dumping your
Djinns to the graveyard anyway, and you can use
multiple Djinns for the same Ritual monster to add
multiple effects, provided its big enough. But
in a more competitive build, I don't think I could
main deck this one.

Djinn Prognosticator of Rituals
is a Level 3 Dark Fiend.
He has an abysmal 400 ATK and
300 DEF: too small to be useful, but
too large for a handful of combos.
Not a huge loss, though:
while we’d enjoy this card if it
were beatstick or wall like its
siblings we’ve already reviewed, at
least its size makes it easily
searchable and besides, you really
want this in your Graveyard.
Using
Djinn as fodder for a Ritual is
made easier by it having the common
Djinn effect allowing you to
remove it from your Graveyard to be
used as fuel for a Ritual summon.
However it is used as fuel
(from hand, field, or Graveyard via
its own effect), it grants the
Ritual monster summoned the ability
to force the opponent to discard.
The only catch is that said
Ritual monster has to inflict battle
damage.
Being Level 3 can be a tad awkward
since the non-Monster specific
Ritual Spells (e.g. the ones that
get played) require the total levels
offered match the Ritual monster
exactly.
If you go to the trouble of
running a monster’s actual Ritual
Spell, then you can be a little over
so long as you couldn’t be exact.
That means you could remove
this for the cost of
Black Illusion Ritual and your
Relinquished can suck up an
opposing monster, swing for damage,
and still get that nice
discard-from-hand bonus effect.
Too bad that there is no
truly specific Ritual Spell for
Demise, King of Armageddon: he
share’s one with
Ruin, Queen of Oblivion and so
it requires exactly 8 Levels worth
of monsters be used for him.
Djinn Disserere of Rituals
fortunately can re-even out your
total levels while allowing for
still a third Level 4
Djinn to be used for
Demise, or you can just add any
other odd-level 5 or less Monster:
whatever works.
Djinn Prognosticator of Rituals
may be puny but it has one of the
best, if not the best granted effect
of all the
Djinn monsters.
If the scores seem odd,
realize I am basically ranking how
much it will help Ritual decks in
the formats: in Traditional it won’t
make a dent, but it’s a significant
boost to Ritual decks in
Traditional.
It just may not be enough to
overcome the competition.

Djinn Precognsnator of Rituals:
Not really that much to say about this guy. Level 3,
so that hurts him compared to other djinns. His
effect is meh. Basically the same as Airbellums. If
you're running a ritual deck, you might want to run
one of these guys, but not worth running any more
than that.

Today's card is Djinn
Prognosticator of Rituals, which I'll just call
Progdor so I don't have to copypasta so much. As I
mentioned yesterday, you use these cards to make
efficient and unstoppable Ritual monsters. With this
one, you get a Don Zaloog effect slapped onto
whatever you use it to summon, which is really good.
Although your opponent chooses what to discard and
could sometimes get a boost from it, the main reason
to use this card is to absorb an attack, but still
be able to summon a Ritual with it.
At the very least, this is a nifty card to have, and
when you get it going you can further decrease your
opponent's options.

Fun Fact: Golden Sun rules.
Tomorrow: It was made into a card from the show
because it won a contest. |
