Monday
I chose some great cards for this week, so I hope
everyone out there enjoys them! Blackwing--Breeze
the Zephyr is another great Tuner monster to come
into the Blackwing World. We have a Level 3,
Winged-Beast, Dark attributed (Wind or even Fire
seems more
appropriate) with 1100 attack and 300 defense.
Now, if our cute little friend is added from your
Deck to your Hand by the effect of a Monster, Magic,
or Trap card, you can Special Summon this card from
your Hand. As a bit more of a side-effect, you can't
use this as a Synchro Monster except for a Blackwing
Synchro Summon.
No big deal here at all. It's quick, makes
Synchro Summoning for Blackwings faster and easier,
and even as someone who likes Blackwings you can't
help but wonder if the pouring of support will ever
let up...

Blackwing-Breeze the Zephyr
This is one of the new Blackwing cards form the
TSHD set, and arguably one of the better ones. We
start off with a level 3 DARK WInged-Beast with 1100
ATK and 300 DEF. DARK Winged-Beast gives this guy a
lot of wiggle room as far as playability, and the
fact that it is a Tuner is just great.
The effect is that when it is added to your hand
by the effect of a Spell, Trap or MOnster effect,
you can Special Summon it. It can only be used to
Synchro Summon Blackwing Synchro monsters though.
This is NOT a replacement for Gale. A lot of
people are saying that. It just menas that Whirlwind
is that much more important to the deck and that
Sangan may be teched in the deck so that you can get
some defense as well as comboes off. As far as I am
concerned, the card is hyped. IMO Ghibli is more of
what the deck needed, a way to stop OTK's that is
searchable by Sangan and Whirlwindable by ANY other
Blackwing. It can be offensive as well as defensive
too.
I woul dnot by any means say that Breeze is bad,
he just may be tech in an already crowded Blackwing
lineup. I have to say if you find you are putting
Mistral in your deck, this guy is way better.

Blackwing - Breeze the Zephyr ...
Brand new Blackwing ... as if they needed any
more help. Simply stated - Zephyr is awesome.
Awesome name. Awesome picture. Awesome effect. Added
to your hand from the deck by any special means - u
get to summon this little level 3 tuner. The only
drawback is that u can only use her to tune for a
Blackwing synchro monster ... Which isn't a HUGE
drawback as most of them are pretty great.
Blackwings are already awesome, and have various
methods of extracting Zephyr from the deck, but she
isn't just limited to Blackwing decks, and the most
popular searcher in the game (Sangan) can fetch her,
regardless of WHAT deck u are playing. U will at
least get a free summon of an 1100 ATK monster, and
depending on what else u have going on, u can
probably use her to do much more. Think of the fun
if u 1st tune and synchro summon with Sangan, and
then get its effect, bring Zephyr to the field, and
then tune Zephyr with another floating level 4 that
u also had out, to also bring out the Armor Master?
- fun times. The only other hiccup to Zephyr is if u
draw her 1st, without having extracted her from the
deck on your own terms. Then it'll be like any other
level 3 tuner monster .... with loads of theme
support.
Tons of combos will be used an abused. Blackwings
have the best tuners in the game.

Today we introduce another new Blackwing to the
Yu-Gi-Oh! universe. Blackwing - Breeze the Zephyr,
basically the new Blackwing - Gale the Whirlwind
strictly for Blackwings. When its added from your
deck to your hand by a card effect, you can special
summon it from your hand, and it cannot be used for
a synchro summon unless its for a Blackwing synchro
monster. Its got 1100 attack so its easily
searchable with Black Whirlwind if you summon Kalut,
Shura, Sirocco, Bora and even Gale. It gives
Blackwings a way to synchro faster, since Gale was
limited which slowed down their synchro engine.
Breeze adds more ways to speed up synchro summons,
Vayu was one card that was going to help speed
things up, but it only worked while in the
graveyard. On top of that, if you wanted to special
summon the monster you special summoned off of
Vayu's effect, you couldn't because it wasn't
properly summoned. With Breeze, those monsters are
properly summoned. Shame it doesn't activate its
effect whenever its added to the hand from anywhere,
if it did you could use it with Dark Eruption, which
would add it back from the graveyard to the hand,
but unfortunately its only from the deck. However
that should be more than enough for Blackwings.

Breeze the Zypher is a solid new addition to
Blackwing decks and was bumped up to Ultra Rare
status. Why is this a Blackwing when it's completely
orange? Anyway, Breeze is meant to be used in leiu
of the two Gales missing from your deck since last
September, even though it's orange. This card is an
improved Watapon (blasphemy!) that can only make
Blackwing Synchros, because it's orange.
Aside from being orange, the only way to get max
use out of this is by getting it through Black
Whirlwind, even though there are absolutely no black
feathers on it. It can be extremely useful, but dead
if you draw it because it's not black.
4/5
Art: It's Gale in Kalut's position... But how is it
a Blackwing?
Fun Fact: Falkner uses this card... Even though it's
orange.
Tomorrow: Thank Arceus this card is actually black.
