Black Potan ... Oh, ok. I get it. A very weak
monster. When out with a Tuner, this thing can't be
destroyed by battle ... uhm ... so what? Most people
would rather destroy the Tuner 1st, anyway. And then
u get 800 LP when that Tuner is removed from the
field ... Your best scenario would be Potan and
something like Infernity Beetle. Trigger its effect,
send it to the grave, and gain 800 LP, in addition
to 2 more Infernity Beetles. If u've got 2 other
things on the field to synchro into, then u get 2
more batches of 800 LP. So total? - 2400 LP.
Nice. But is it worth the effort? - absolutely
not. For a second I thought u got the bonus when a
Synchro left the field. Then pairing this with say,
Stardust, might be handy. But nope. Black Potan
needs Tuners ... but none need him.

So someone in the card design
department either really likes or
really hates potatoes.
Today we review
Yami Mr. Potato Head
Black Potan, already remarkable
for not having its name censored.
Oddly enough, it’s a Fiend
and not a Plant.
It has a counterpart known as
White
Potan.
Black Potan has abysmal stats
(Level 1/Dark/Fiend/Effect/200/100)
but it can’t be destroyed by battle
if you have a face-up Tuner in play.
Also, if a Tuner you control
is removed from the field, you gain
800 LP.
Ironically
White Potan (a Light/Fairy) has
a similar effect but inflicts burn.
Either way… I am none too
thrilled with the card.
If you have a Tuner, you
probably want to use it for a
Synchro Summon.
Even if you did want too… the
instant the Tuner dies, this is sure
to follow.

Black Potan
Since Tuners generally have low stats (and are
intended to be tuned off the field), I don't really
understand the point of Black Potan. I think this
card would have been far better if the effect
prevented being targeted or destroyed by any effect,
period. As it stands, the card is unplayable
garbage.

Today's card is Black
Potan, which I'm sure must be a mistake because this
is from ABPF... Anyway, there isn't much to say
about this card because it's just another trash
common nobody is going to use. If you have a face-up
Tuner, it can't be destroyed in battle. When a Tuner
is removed from the field, you gain 800 Life Points.
Why do you have a Tuner you're not using, why aren't
you using Marshmallon (the superior marshmallow
card), and why are you so desperate for 800 Life
Points?

Art: Chocolate.
Fun Fact: Someone needs to make that awesome hat out
of this. I forget who has it...
Tomorrow: You can buy Revival Herbs in the Goldenrod
underground. |
