Paladin of White Dragon, a Level 4, Light attributed, Dragon type monster, who is also, unfortunately, a Ritual. This card would be beyond amazing if it was just an Effect monster. We have 1900 attack which is good (yet meaningless) and 1200 defense.

Now, when Paladin of White Dragon attacks a face down Defense monster, destroy that monster immediately using this cards effect without flipping it face up. This is obviously good as you're pretty much eliminating whatever was down. Also, you don't apply damage.

You can tribute this card to Special Summon one Blue Eyes White Dragon from your Hand or Deck, although the Blue Eyes cannot attack during that turn, so this is likely something you want to do at the end of your turn. Anyway, this is obviously geared for Blue Eyes and his own Deck. If you're playing that Deck for fun, I'm still not sure I'd waste the cards for this, Blue Eyes does have some support after all.

Paladin of White Dragon …
 
An interesting card … especially as of late now with the Ritual Fiends at your disposal … Back in the day when people were dead set on making a Blue Eyes deck work, this card was something to contend with. But then again, 1900 ATK at the time was something of a rarity on a 4 star monster, and this Paladin could do a lot of the heavy lifting on his own, even without getting a Blue Eyes involved. Most non-tribute monsters couldn’t face him in battle, so face-down DEF was their only option, and he’d demolish them in that state. And, then of course – his ability to bring out Blue Eyes.
 
Nowadays? Well the scape of the game is different, but I still believe a dedicated Blue Eyes deck could find a place for him. Plus with the helpful shortcutting of the Ritual Fiends? I think the Paladin could be a lot of fun and borderline useful.

Paladin of White Dragon:

With all of the face-down monsters being played right now (Ryko, GK Spy, Hamster), I actually considered throwing a few of these guys into a ritual deck with relinquished. Of course, that didn't really pan out the way I had hoped. Anyway, this guy would have been a great (and usable) card if they had just made him an effect monster instead of a Ritual. Instead he gets thrown into the "for fun only" pile. Also, I hate the art, it looks like hes riding the Michelin Man.

Tuesday- Paladin of White Dragon

Best case scenario for Paladin: You summon Manju (gain the Ritual). You then spend Manju + another card in hand to get out Paladin. Paladin kills a face-down monster and then you get BEWD.

In this best case scenario you have netted an even trade. While brilliant new Ritual support is slowly being released (allowing you to remove the Ritual spell or the Djinn monsters), most of it doesn't apply to older Ritual monsters.

Compare Paladin to a monster like Demise or the new Herald of Perfection and it simply does not compare.
