Japanese Card
Scrap Twin Dragon
#STBL-JP044 Early Japanese Translation: 1 Spellcaster-Type Synchro Monster + 1 Spellcaster-Type monster This card cannot be Special Summoned from your Extra Deck except by Fusion Summon. When this card is Fusion Summoned, place 2 Spell Counters on it. This card gains 1000 ATK for each Spell Counter on it. Once per turn, you can remove 1 Spell Counter from a card you control to activate one of these effects: ● Select and destroy 1 card on the field. ● Draw 1 card.

Scrap Twin Dragon, a Level 9, Earth attributed,
Dragon type Synchro Monster, with 3000 attack and
2200 defense. I think the attack and defense should
both be a little higher since they threw the extra
star on their, but STD is Synchro Summoned with a
Scrap Tuner and one or more non-Tuner monsters.
Let's discuss Level 9 Synchro monster...obvious
the Tuner is very important...Level 4 would still
leave at least a Level 5 monster you need to Synchro,
so you're probably looking at a 3 monster Synchro
mosnter here.
So does Scrap Twin Dragon pay off for your (very
likely) 3 card investment? Well, by destroying one
card of yours, you can return two cards on your
opponent's Field to their Hand. Obviously if you
choose a Synchro Monster(s) it (they) return to the
Extra Deck.
Even though the cards aren't destroyed, you can
essentially treat this as a 2-for-1, or even more,
potentially. Since you are destroying one card you
control, you can make that a Scrap monster, as when
Scrap Twin Dragon is destroyed, you can Special
Summon a non-Synchro Scrap mosnter from your
Graveyard.

Scrap Twin Dragon
Now here is a big bad beastie that we have all
been waiting for. Scrap Twin Dragon is not two Scrap
Dragon's Fused together as you might imagine (thank
you Konami design team!) but is instead just a level
9 Synchro EARTH Machine Synchro that requires a
Scrap Tuner and boasts an impressive 3000 ATK and
2200 DEF. These stats are already pretty good, as we
needs a level 9 Synchro that is easy to get and
doesn't need more than one-non-tuner.
Now the effects make the stats look like icing on
the cake. The first effect is that you can destroy
one card you control and send 2 cards your opponent
controls to their hand. Wow, now that is amazing,
the possibility of a negligible in card advantage if
you destroy a Scrap Tuner or Card Trooper with it's
effect, or even anything else that would get you a
free card from being destroyed. In a pinch, it can
even use itself, which is not recommended, but you
can still do it. Furthermore, if it is destroyed by
an opponent's card effect you can Special Summon a
non-Synchro Scrap monster from your graveyard.
This card will see tournament play. It is as
simple as that. Scrap decks got a lot of hype from
DREV, and they got good with this Synchro monster.
It is a true beast that may even be used in decks
that are just splashing a Scrap Tuner in order to
get this guy out. It is not a generic Synchro, but
who cares! It wrecks face when it hits the field,
not to mention the card tempo and even advantage if
you hit Synchro monsters. Against Blackwings it
might not help, but most other decks besides
Lightsworn will cringe when this guy plops on the
field.

Scrap Twin Dragon
is the new Boss Monster for
Scrap decks.
This is a massive Level 9
Synchro Monster.
It is Earth, like all the
Scrap monsters I can remember
and a Dragon.
It requires a
Scrap monster for the Tuner, but
if you can splash one in it could
theoretically run in a Dragon deck,
as the non-Tuner monster (or
monsters) can be anything.
Scrap Twin Dragon
has a fierce 3000 ATK backed by a
sturdy 2200 DEF and two great
effects.
The first is that you can
select one card you control and two
cards your opponent controls.
You then destroy your
selected card and your opponent must
return the two cards of theirs you
selected to their hand.
Bounce, so no
Starlight Road
to save them, though
Stardust Dragon itself can by
sacrificing itself to negate the
destruction of your own card.
This would also destroy
Scrap Twin Dragon and when it is
destroyed by your opponent, its
second effect kicks in: you can
Special Summon 1 non-Synchro
Scrap monster from your
Graveyard.
While it is a shame it can’t
be a Synchro, there are still some
solid picks.
I understand why they did
that, though: we don’t need two of
it recycling each other ad nauseam.
In the preceding scenario
there would no longer be a
protective
Stardust Dragon on the field,
either.
The main ruling to keep in
mind is that if your opponent can
stop you from destroying your
monster with the effect, then you
don’t get the bounce.
It doesn’t work the other way
round: if they prevent you from
bouncing a card, yours is still
destroyed.
I’d like to draw attention to how it
says “cards”.
I know
Scrap monsters like to blow
themselves (and each other) up, but
being able to target anything means
you can contemplate running
similarly themed Traps and Spells,
like
Dark Coffin and
Widespread Dud.
Also note that with
Scrap Golem and
Scrap Beast in your Graveyard,
as long as you have another copy of
this in your Extra Deck, a destroyed
Scrap Twin Dragon can be
promptly replaced.
This card looks like a must for
Scrap decks.

I am still selling my former
collectables on eBay. I’ve had
a lot of hobbies over the years, so
at various times I’ll have comic
books, manga, action figures, and
video games on the auction block.
You can take a look at what’s up for
bids
here. I usually add new stuff
on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
Just a reminder, Pojo is in
no way responsible for any
transactions and was merely kind
enough to let me mention the
auctions here. ;)
