The lvl 6 Goku's opposite number. Instead of card draw, he nukes the
hand, and, while, it looks effective, it might just not be as.
You can level to him in a hurry with Black Energetic, but he cannot
use the Saiyan tricks Goku gets to level, so he loses a step there.
But reach this level, throw the power first, and at best, they have
one card in hand (after stopping the energy), or they take 25 life,
and have two cards to work with (or four or three, assuming one of
the cards they pitch is a Hercule's Crescent Punch). Either way, it
can really ruin a combat for someone.
Problems? Them entering. A Blitz deck will run it's hand down to
nothing before you can ever get an attack phase, allies could care
less (they will keep their drainer in hand, or shoot it first), and
getting slammed with a Crescent Punch hurts (or having them discard
one or two to the power).
Overall, he is strong, and looks effective, but in this one's
opinion, if you are going to put alot of effort into leveling to a
level 6, you should use the Goku, as it is just alot better, on both
the power, and the lower levels.
In Expanded, it isn't even a consideration for anything other than
anger. You will never get to the level by the time ball beats you.
In Sealed, if you manage to pull his starter set, his 4, and his 5,
well, you are pretty lucky.
This is sort of like the previous card, but he’s not as potent. Sure
he balances out Goku, but his lower levels don’t have the
versatility like Goku, not to mention there are good ways to get
around him like Hercule’s Crescent Punch. He’ll have a much better
time hitting attacks with the discarding down to two before a block
is used, but he also needs to be used first action to be most
effective (to shoot a 5 card hand down to two).
If used correctly, the card advantage can really help. Key is, you
have to really use him right. If you do, it might spell good game
for opponents. You need to get here as well… Black Energetic major
hand kill anyone?
Expanded: 4.1 out of 5.0 (if only his lower levels were better
suited for this format)
Focused: 4.5 out of 5.0 (discarding is good)
Sealed: Yeah right.
