Power: Energy attack doing 12 life cards of damage. 4: Search your
deck for a Vegeta Named card and put it in your hand.
Not bad. But not that amazing either.
He looks like a Gohan level 1 clone with a nifty secondary effect.
As an ally, he’s not shabby seeing Gohan is an amazing ally, but the
problem is he’s a level 3. That limits him to Focused Orange Aura
decks, and even then I’d rather run the level 1 to boost all my
other allies. You won’t be searching out any decent Vegeta named
cards other than Vegeta’s Quickness Drill, and we all know how
useful drills are in our hand during combat.
The new Shadow Dragon Saga level 3 would be even a better candidate
for an ally than the level 1, provided you can run him. But looking
at both as MPs, I’d probably go with the Shadow Dragon one in
Focused, with the thought that you can build that +2 life quite
fast. This one isn’t all that bad though because you can pull
Spinning Strike or Combo Jab. Key is making your first attack Saiyan
Heritage, and then you should be fine. Depends more on your
playstyle, but the newer one is a physical, has larger base, and can
build nicely with Saiyan Heritage Only on all Freestyle Combat
attacks.
You’ve also got the HT to think about. It’s pretty good, but it
basically works in Blitz when you want to finish the attack with a
nice removal of the discard.
In Expanded, I’d rather use the CS Level 3 HT. With holding two
cards at end of turn, Vegeta will be able to pick and choose
normally something good to disrupt your opponent as either the
attacker or defender. This can easily make or break a game. However,
the searching ability could work into your plans if you are Vegeta
Freestyle, or even search out Orange Vegeta’s Assault.
A lot depends on your deck. There’s no plain obvious choice, but
reason points to the CS HT and a toss up in Focused.
Expanded: 2.0 out of 5.0 (could work, but a much better option
otherwise)
Focused: 3.4 out of 5.0 (if you can give Vegeta’s power Saiyan
Heritage, you can efficiently make the chain longer with the power)
Sealed: 1.0 out of 5.0 (unless you get Vegeta 1 and 2, you’re most
likely not going to able to run him)

Vegeta lvl 3-
Expanded- While this power looks
very juicy in Vegeta Freestyle, the lvl 3 HT CS has it beat all
over the place. A Staredown every turn is just awesome versus
everything and while the huge energy/hand advantage may look
good, Id still take the HT any day. 2.5/5
Focused- Much better than the lvl 2,
it is basically just a big energy that will search for a
physical. If you ever get here in blitz in could be a useful
power and for being the only level in this format I think it is
very good. 4/5
