Blue Energy Beam - Dragon Ball Z Re-Z Arrival Rare - #189 Energy Combat

Energy for 5. 3: If you Refocus with this card, you may put in play a Support from your discards.

Blue Energy Beam is a great card, even though it costs a few too many stages initially. The key to it is to use it as a Refocus, and then you can really abuse it. If you pull Blue Cheer you've effectively prevented 5, played Cheer, and tutored it for three stages and a card from your hand, which is quite cost effective. You can also gain stages by pulling Tien's Help, and with the note that you get it as a defense, unless your opponent has an if successful effect on the attack to get rid of it (which you obviously should be watching).

Many of Blue's cards revolve around Supports, so make sure to pack three of these in your Blue or Colorless deck. Colorless can get a bunch of random stuff like Orange Dinner. What's really funny is when you use this with Krillin Level 3 HT and just have fun with free stuff.

If this card was in Expanded and Refocusing was an effect in Expanded, imagine how good this card would be...

4.3 out of 5
