Psychatog is too new
for me to really give a review on. We have
seen him go to town in limited events. This
guy is very valuable in limited if you are
planning on playing both black and blue. I
think he has a ton of potential in constructed,
but he would have to be in the right deck. Maybe
thing with lots of flashback would be useful with
this card. Maybe he will see some play in
the Odyssey constructed tournaments down the road.

Easily
considered the best Atog from Odyssey,
I've seen Psychatog completely rule the
board. I've also seen him be overused,
underused, and totally devalued. This is definitely
a skill intensive card and in the right
hands, it reaches near broken. In the
wrong hands, its horrible.
Constructed - 2.5
(might be block worthy)
Limited - 4.5

Limited ****
Constructed ***
One of the best 'togs to date. Psychatog's 2
pump abilities are very good and actually
"feed" each other. It can be very
difficult to deal with an Psychatog during any
point of a Limited game which is why I rated it so
highly.

The new, thus
far untested Atog straight From Odyssey. WotC
decided to try some multi-colored Atog, make their
Power/Toughness too low for their casting cast,
and make their abilities sub-optimal, and far less
powerful than their original, still-fairly-weak
counterparts. So what are we left with? Four
really bad Atogs, a SUPER bad Atog legend that
eats bad Atogs, and Psychatog. Is Psychatog bad?
Yes. For what it does, it's a terrible example of inefficiency.
If push comes to shove, will he get the job done?
You bet!
The combo is in the fact
that the two abilities work together. *Remove 2
cards in your hand from the game, Psychatog gets
+3/+3 until end of turn. Kinda sweet. Start with a
large hand a few cards in the grave, and we have a
genuine assassin on our hands here.
Despite having low stats,
Psychatog can, and will kill. A few decks are
already testing out this Atog, but time will tell
if he's really good in the long run.
In limited, he's retarded,
and should always go pick 1-3 if he's in your
colors. There is always a bunch of extra trash
floating around in limited you can feed Tommy 'Tog
with.

I know I bashed
this guy horribly in one of my articles, but he's
sort of grown on me. He has potential in type II
to be death when he hits the board, especially
late in the game, and he will be a major force in
Odyssey block, because black/blue has too much to
not be good. Still, he's a sitting duck early in
the game, plus there are better things you can be
dropping third turn. He's the ideal beatstick for
blue/black control, because he can drop late and
be game. Thus, he get's a 4.5. He's one of the
best atogs.
In limited, he's even worse,
but he's not something I'd draft in droves. If
there's more than 1 or 2, then you can afford to
let them go by. He's again devastating late in the
game, but definitely not a force early on. He'll
go between 2nd to 6th pick in draft, possibly 7th
or 8th, and will be in any sealed deck of his
respective colors. So, in limited, he gets a 4.
