RAGE
WITH THE KICKA! 10 to the dome. I like what this
card has done for the game. Even the name is
suitable. Who could stop Urza if he was really
angry? The only possible defense is to turn it
against him, Judo-style. This card may not be the
best card in your opening pack, but its still the
card I'd most likely take. A 5 in my book in both
categories. |

Burn, baby, burn!
I think this card is fun for the simple fact
that it can't be countered. It's got an
insane kicker cost, but is VERY balanced. It
is definitely tournament worthy for constructed.
It's another card that has a really high
price.
As for limited, I would take it. If i were
already into red, it is a definite pick in my
eyes.

Uncounterable burn.
And it does 3 to boot. Two of the most important
things when dealing with a blue deck. Throw in
the fact that you can kick it for 10 damage
instead, and you've got a solid card, worthy of
playing anytime you are playing red.

Urza's Rage is
an extremely good card. Not being able to counter
it makes it broken enough, but the option to throw
ten at a person instead of three is amazing in my
opinion. It is the grand daddy of all red right
now, and will remain that as long as Invasion
Block remains type II. When it cycles out, Urza's
Rage will still be good, but not to the magnitude
it is right now, or during the Type II last year.
I give it a 5 in type II, and a 4 in extended,
because many of them are too fast to utilize it
even at 3 mana.
In Limited, this card's not
so much broken as it looks. Yes, hurling 10 damage
at an unsuspecting opponent is fun, but burn is
burn, no matter what new trick it has. It goes
early, because it is removal, but it's not as
special as it looks in draft, at least not any
more than Scorching Lava or Fiery Temper. I give
it a 4 in draft.

Even without the kicker
Urza's Rage is one of the best burn spells
available currently. Instant speed 3 damage to
either a creature or player that CANNOT be
countered is fantastic. You can pull of all kinds
of combat tricks to mess with opposing Wild
Mongrels, Nantuku Shades, Basking Rootwalla's, and
Psychatogs if you know what you're doing! The only
drawback to this card is it's rare... meaning it
won't be easy to find.

Urza is one hell
of a mad-man. Like the little teapot, when Urza
gets all steamed up, just tip this card over and
pour it all out. Rage to the dome, killing a
creature; it doesn't matter. Who said nothing gets
accomplished with anger?
In limited, Rage is still a
great card. Pick it high. Everyone else will.

Great card. An
instant that can't be countered that does 3 or
10 damage is simply the best red spell in type 2
and maybe the best in extended (see Fireblast
for the other). It is a red players dream. And
children what does the Godfather always say ?
