For the
initial investment of RRR you to can throw lands
at your opponents
head or creatures and do damage! Very
effective in Limited, a 4, in
constructed, not as good, a 2.5.

This card is fun for
neat tricks. Unfortunately, because it is so
specific, you don't see a lot of this card in
constructed play.
In limited, I think this is definitely worth
playing. It gives you something to do with
all your worthless land late in the game.

I
still remember a Tempest Block PTQ. I was in
the Top 8 against CounterPhoenix playing with a
deck DeQuan dubbed before the tournament
"Gerhardt's Pile" (which coincidentally
beat DeQuan's CounterSliver deck that day, but
that's another story). Anyway, we had come
down to a stalemate in game 3 and I really thought
I was going to be able to deck him out for the
win. Then he drops Seismic Assault, and I'm
out of counters. God did I feel stupid when
I took 10 to the dome in about 1.2 seconds.
Simply put, in the right deck, this card will win
games if you can resolve it. It's far better
than people give it credit for. The ability
to turn resources which are nearly dead in the
late game into Shocks is incredible. Combine
with things that puts lands in your hands and you
have killing machine fast
In limited, why not. Get RRR on the board,
and this will almost undoubtedly finish your
opponent or their armada off.Constructed

"I wanna be a
Land's Edge."
... only better. The
cost is RRR instead of 1RR, but you are the only
person that can chuck lands. The only other
downfall is that you can't discard non-land cards
to get your hand size down under a Black Vise or
to use a Cursed Scroll more effectively, but who
plays those cards together, anyway?
In limited, the RRR
cost forces you to be a very heavy red player, but
if you are, you'll typically have a steady source
of damage.

This is a nice way to
deal with unwanted land later in the game. When
you
can afford to play anything in your hand, all
those extra Mountains become 2
to the dome instead. It's pretty costly for what
it does.
In constructed play, I'd rather use Rites of
Initiation to use up my excess
land. Seismic Assault could be useful in limited
however, as the spare land
may otherwise become useless in the late game.

I saw this as a kill
card for a Nefarious Lich deck
once. Never saw that deck win a game,
though. Never
seen it played or used well any other time.
Geez,
guess it sucks!
Limited? Well, I guess it's better if you
are playing
that much red. But if you are playing that
much red,
do you really need this guy?
Constructed: 1.5 (useful once/if it hits)
Limited: 2 (like I said, a little better)

I love red but was never a
big fan of this card but it can do some damage
and combos with Mana Breach (or
something with a name like that) in 7th to be
a nifty draft combo.
