8.8.02 - Pojo Note. I accidentally deleted this

had written a review, but I killed a bunch. I did
my best to recreate it. - Bill

Flying is one of the oldest and best forms of
evasion in Magic. Giving all your creatures
flying in Limited is seriously powerful and can
make a normally pathetic army look fierce in a
hurry. Even if you can't get Wonder into the
grave it's still a 2/2 flier for 3U which all by
itself is pretty good.
You can pretty much say the same good things about
Wonder in constructed formats... except in
constructed you won't have to worry about playing
with sub-par creatures!!

Would Levitation
be played if it could be cast for free and
occasionally attack for 2 damage? Somehow I'm
guessing it wouldn't be, but here we have another
example of how good bad cards can be when put in
the Odyssey block. Make no joke about it, though,
this card can be a killer. If you are running a
creature based deck in OBC, you better be able to
deal with Wonder (while its in the graveyard, that
is).
In Limited, this guy is
quite good. Evasion often breaks games wide open
and this guy gives all your creatures evasion.
While not a first pick, this should go in the
first 4.

On 1st glance
this card appears to be just another 2/2 flyer for
3U and then you read the text and Wow. Although I
think the incarnations mechanic is a bad thing for
the game this card's graveyard ability makes it
incredibly good. The game is really screwed up
when putting a card in the yard becomes a road to
victory. But since we have to live with another
dumb concept from R&D we might as well use it
especially when it makes all your 1 and 2 drops
have flying on a more or less permanent basis.

A component in
the Quiet Roar deck. This card allows your Wurms
and other creatures to fly over potential
blockers. Nice to have, but I have found it is not
absolutely necessary.
In limited, the ability to
give you creatures flying helps to end games
quickly. Even if you can't get it in your
graveyard, a 2/2 flier for 4 isn't that bad.

This
card is all around good. Good in limited,
good in constructed.
It's an ok creature on its own, but wihen it's in
the graveyard...well it's all good.
When this guy gets rollin..."Business is
about to pick up!"

Wonder
is an incredible card. There is nothing worse for
your opponent than a flying 6/6 Wurm on turn 4.
Wonder can easily house any deck in Type II or
Block right now, with only a select few cards
being able to do anything about it. A 4 in constructed.
In limited, flying is a
major commodity. A flying creature automatically
gets brownie points for evasion, no matter how
crappy it is (Might not change where it gets
picked.) How about you give all those fatties on
the ground flying? Wonder easily can change tides
in draft, and win games as well. A 4.5 in limited. |
