Pojo's Magic The Gathering
Card of the Day

One of
the original 3-for-1's (Healing Salve, Dark
Ritual, Lightning Bolt, and Ancestral Recall being
the other 4 for those keeping score at home), this
is a card that has been used in Stompy-style decks
from the beginning. It's a kill card, it's
removal, it's a counterspell, and a great
surprise, all depending on the situation.
The fact of the matter remains that in stompy,
there is none-better. The card has some
alternate uses, like Cephalid Constable, but is
mostly great for beatdown. In
limited, +3/+3 can be huge, and I can't imagine
not playing it if you're going green.

Giant Growth is a great, low casting cost (G) spell that will boost a creature +3/+3 at instant speed. An excellent example of its
usefulness in the constructed format is in Stompy type decks that focus on fast, low Casting Cost spells to beat the holy crap out of their opponent's before they can blink.
Giant Growth, found in the current 7th Edition main set (among others), can be used in several ways to your advantage. If your opponent attempts to damage one of your creatures, you can pump it up with Giant Growth to save it. You can also use it as a surprise to pump up a blocker and kill off an attacking creature while saving your own.
Or, use it as a game finisher, to pump up an unblocked attacking creature to get in that last 3 points of damage. Very
versatile!!
In limited, it's definitely a consideration if you're going Green, probably a 3rd or 4th pick.

One of the classic
cards, that saves your creature or deals more
damage. In constructed, it has no place right
now in most any deck. I don't know that it
should, since it would take up a spot that might
better be used by another card.
In limited, though,
it's a great card. The damage or saving (or
both) capabilities are much better for a limited
deck.

This is the classic pump spell that started
green's "I make things big" style. Also
one of the "3" cards. In constructed
this isn't as useful as it used to be. So I don't
think were ever going to see this thing get
serious play like it once did.
In limited, its a great
pick. It gets kills, it has great surprise value,
and it can deliver the final blow using and
unblocked creature. A great pick to anyone playing
green.
In sealed, definitely play
this, as Ice Age block doesn't have such great
draft creatures so nothing much can handle this.
Any other sealeds this lands up in, if your green,
you'll be playing this.

Giant growth has long
been a staple in Stompy decks, and provides green
"creature removal" as well as a surprise
finisher in limited. Not a game
breaker, but a solid card. I don't expect it
to see much play any time soon
though, due to the plethora of other green
instant pumping spells that are
a little more focused in purpose being available
in type 2 at the moment.
