Card of the Day

Radiate

Radiate

Torment - Rare
3RR - Instant

Choose target instant or sorcery spell that targets only a single permanent or player.  For each other permanent or player that spell could target, put a copy of the spell onto the stack.  Each copy targets a different one of those permanents and players.

Fork on crack.  Maybe they should just have called this card SUPER FORK!
Undoubtedly that would have been a bad name.  It's very expensive but I
think that someone is going to find a very useful way to make this card
very, very good.  I'm going to stay tentative with this rating, but its a 4
in both formats.

I'm not sure if I'm gonna end up regretting this... but I think this card stinks.  It's expensive.  It's klunky.  In constructed I really can't think of anything terribly abusive that can be done with this card... mainly because who knows if you're opponent will play spells worth Radiating?  Radiate on a Vindicate would be good for a laugh... but again, pretty klunky if you asked me.

I s'pose Radiate could be used in Limited as a way to turn your opponents removal into a "wrath" effect... still klunky but a possibility.

Again, it's really too early to say for sure but I think this will end up being one of those "crap" rares that will sit in binders and never see play.

Radiate is quite an interesting card.  It's a Fork on Steroids.  In my opinion, this card serves a much better defensive purpose than an offensive one.  Adding five mana to any spell is just not all that practical in constructed, especially when the results can be quite unpredictable.  Radiating a Vindicate sure is a really fancy Obliterate, though, isn't it?  While fancy and cool, it's not real practical.  Even in limited, you never know what you're going to get to Radiate, and even past that, it's pretty expensive.  I think you would play it in limited for the "who knows" factor, but I don't see it as amazing there.

Finally a card that I don't have to get the power/toughness on. Radiate this, radiate that - we all radiate! This card, Fork's demented older brother, is no Fork. It's way too messed up to be useful in random decks, and it's limited value is none, since you can't ever guarantee you'll LIKE the results of it's actions. It's likely to show up in some combo deck  that I don't understand yet, but it's not going to make much of an impact on standard.

It's extremely expensive, and is only powerful in rare situations.  This card can only shine when winning isn't as important as being wacky.  Rating = 1

In Limited, Radiate has the possibility of acting as a Wrath of God if used correctly.  Obviously, this isn't going to happen too often due to its high cost.  In
Constructed, it doesn't really seem to get any better, unless you're playing in multi-player, and even then that's quite a stretch.  This is another card I don't see getting sold for too much.  I hope someone can prove me wrong, though.

This is a revision of the old school red spell fork which was really great spell in the day, unfortunately this one's drawbacks make it sub-optimal. It is much too expensive at 3RR, and it kills your permanents. If they really wanted to make it could they could have said target player and permanents he controls. I am sure there are some wacky combos that this would be fun with but how many good red combo decks have you ever seen ? If you want a red deck use Goblins instead. Rating 2 Limited 2 Constructed.

Oh man oh man oh man!  This is gonna be REALLY good....or REALLY bad.

There is so much potential to be gained and lossed here.  I don't have a lot to say on this one, just be careful and be patient if this thing is being played.

Constructed Rating: Judges Nightmare (2.2)
Limited Rating : Player's Nightmare (2.3)
Casual Play: completely insane !! (4.7)
