Too expensive, too
unwieldy, too not good. Mind over Matter but much,
much worse. It could see some play but I'd rather
play an extra land. A 1 in both limited and constructed. I'm prepared to eat my words if
someone breaks this card in Constructed though. |

The New Mind Over
Matter. Fortunately, this isn't Urza's Block.
Unfortunately, this isn't Urza's Block.
I just don't think
there's enough of a way to abuse this card. With
Mind Over Matter, the cost was a discard, and
that was easy enough. Here, you have to find a
way to discard something, and so it's more
reactionary, or else you have to put a lot of
discard effects in. I'm sure this will try to be
broken in type 1, but other than that, this card
just doesn't cut it.
Don't play this in
limited.

Another overcosted, virtually useless blue rare.
Why would you want this? It's effect is weak at
best, it costs 2UUU to cast and 1U to activate
just to tap a permanent only when your opponent
discards a card. No valid use in constructed or
limited and it is a 5 cost blue card not named
Morphling. Fails all tests.

Well, if we
could have Mind Over Matter as a reasonable
card...it would probably look like this. I
have to say though, that without some real trick
to it, I don't se this card getting abused at all.
It might just be overbalanced, but only time will
tell.
If I were in a draft and saw this card come by, I
might just be hoping that I don't get stuck with
it.

Telekinitec
bonds is a complicated card, destined for some
combo deck. Too complicated for me to worry about,
regardless. I remember when the combos were fairly
easy to figure out.

Could have been good... if it wasn't so terribly
overcosted. 2UUU to cast AND an activation
cost for each individual use? Crap rare if
you asked me!

This one's a
very tough call for me. Perhaps it could be used
by UG madness in block, perhaps as a sideboard
card (activate Mongrel, tap your blocker, repeat).
It is extremely mana-intensive, and that is a
serious problem. This, unfortunately, won't stop a
Psychatog, because they'll already be attacking by
the time they activate it. It's odd, but I must
admit this is one of the wierd cards and yet I
haven't been exploring it. So this is a very
tentative rating.
