The
better of the glittering creatures in my opinion,
you could do much worse than these guys in your
draft deck. I still don't like them.
A 2 in both
formats. |

Grey Ogre with a reasonable ability, but one
that is fairly easy to overcome. I wouldn't pick
this guy high, but I would still play him.

Ah, so much better
than a Pearled Unicorn, and yet so far away from
ever being placed in a deck. 2

This
card is a playable but extremely mediocre card.
To start with he is a basic gray ogre 2/2 for 3.
Then for 3 mana you can prevent damage to him.
Let see...how many things would you rather do
for 3 mana than protect a 2/2. I can only think
of 2-3 thousand, especially in a block that had
Rebels. In Limited the story is exactly the same
if not worse.

I always like taking Grey Ogres in draft. I
like Grey Ogres even better when they have decent
abilities that can slow down your opponent. Add to
that a decent color to draft behind that (white
did have Rebels in Masque Block) and I'm pretty
much sold. I don't like the Lion as much in
constructed since there are better creatures for
cheaper mana that White Weenie can run, and I
wasn't too excited about that "God" deck
people used this guy in.
