Pojo's Magic The Gathering
Card of the Day
Chris
Gerhardt |
In an Elf deck, this
card can be pivotal. It can make a selected
creature huge. In limited, this thing is just
amazing if you are playing any elves. If I see
this thing hit the board, I jump through hoops to
kill it, because it's a real pain in the butt,
otherwise, and will win games. A fairly early draftpick,
and you play it in sealed if you are going green.

Kind of like a
mini-Coat of Arms for the Elf deck. If you don't
have $15, then by all means, play this. This is
a weaker replacement, but can fit in. Will be
pretty good in block.
In limited however,
you typically won't have enough elves for this
to matter, therefore, it won't be good.

Timberwatch Elf
This guy is stupid in limited (stupid as in stupid
good). Even with only
one other elf, this guy will cement the early and
mid game for you if your
opponent can't handle it. Even though he's 3 mana
for 1 power, he may see
play in constructed too.

Timberwatch Elf
He's fun, but costs a lot...for an elf deck, he's
ok. However in Limited.. he can really help,
by saving creatures, inflicting extra damage etc.

Timberwatch Elf is okay I
guess. The ability could be a superpower except
that elves are hard to keep alive. At least he
always provides at least +1/+1. Some decks may use
him but I think most players will look for more
consistent methods of winning and find stronger
cards and themes.
Constructed – In some elf
decks he is a solid pick – 2.25
Limited – A body and maybe
some pump, not great as either but could be
helpful – 2.65
PEZ – Elf Ball or Overrun Elves are simply better
– 2.15 |

Timberwatch Elf
hmmm.... Elf ball,
those are the first things that come to mind when
I read this guy. Granted he's not the best of
creatures alone and he's pretty easy to kill but
then again aren't' all elves the same way? I think
he has potential and could work pretty well if
you're planning to rush your opponent with a ton
of elves in the early game and finish him off with
some beefy beast with trample. Maybe it's just me
and the fact that I love to do stupid elf tricks
but I would even consider him in limited. I think
if you're going green and have at least 3-4 other
elves you have to play this guy, but then again
that's just my stupid elf tricks opinion. \m/ ^,^

Friday - Timberwatch Elf
This guy is an overcosted creature in
constructed. However, if he lands and gets
rolling, he can wreak havoc on your opponent. He
gets out of control real fast.
In limited, if you are palying green/elves, you
definitely draft this guy. I think he is good
enough to take as an early pick. Maybe somewhere
in the 4th-6th pick range. Possibly higher
depending on what you have going.

No place in constructed, but... in limited...
he's insane.
Usually people around here saying their going
to play "Shiver me timbers" is going to play this
guy. This guy has become first pick material
around here. Its the sparksmith of legions.
Although the smith is much better...
This little guy can get way out of hand, and
giant growth every turn is amazing. In draft, if
theres nothing more amazing in the pack and hes
your colors- TAKE HIM. Even without alot of elves
hes still good. Against someone else playing elves
hes extra good. Make your opponent have to play
around this guy, cause if he can't he'll be dead
soon, or forced to make bad decisions to stay
alive.
