Certainly a metagame
card. Kinda vicious vs 'tog, and not horrid
against the field due to it's cantrip
ability. If they remove their grave, they
lose threshhold. If not, it's a
dismiss. Either way, draw a card.
Whether it's played depends on the metagame, but
when it's good, it's great.
Only okay in limited. Strips a graveyard
from getting threshold and draws a card. Not
bad if you're looking to round out a deck with a
cantrip

This card should be good in blue control decks
at least as a sideboard tool vs decks with
Roar or other strong flashback cards. But the
narrowness of its effect should keep it
primarily in the Sideboard. In limited I don't
see much use for it other than, again, a
sideboard card. Generally there are several
broader Blue counters that will see play ahead
of Grip.

This card is more solid in
constructed than it is in limited. A 'true'
counter in the mid to late games, and pretty ass
horrible in the early game,
its designed to annoy threshold and flashback
decks. Now that you know that
its better in constructed, and I only give it a
1.5 in Constructed, you'll
understand my 1 in Limited. |

At the very least,
this is a card that replaces itself. I tink
most of the time they'll just remove their
graveyard anyway. However, against Tog and
Threshold decks, this could do some real
damage if they don't have a counterspell. The
fact that this is splashable helps a lot too.
Time will tell if this gets played a lot or
not.
In limited, this
would seem to be a pile, since there are very
few situations where I would not just remove
my graveyard.
Constructed: 2
(It's either going to be a 1 or 4+, and I
think it's more likely to be a 1)

Grip of Amnesia is a nice little counter, but the
drawback is all too easy
for your opponent to take advantage of. It's not
often that they'll have
nothing worth getting rid of from the graveyard.
It's a pretty bad pick in limited, and almost
always a dead draw. However,
Grip of Amnesia could be made to work in
constructed, as there are a few
tricks you could pull to empty your opponent's
graveyard and make this card
a very efficient play.

Well,
Grip of Amnesia has some uses in constructed, but
I'm not sure exactly when or where. It's not
a great early counter, but it does net you a card.
In limited, I almost always pass on it.

This card isn't very good because it's so
situational. Sure, it works in
combination with other cards, but it's not like
you can counter on turn 2
with it. Well maybe if they used Book Burning.
Regardless, there's usually a
better card for your deck. A real counterspell.
