Quite the strong
permanent, if you don't have something stronger
in play. Right now, blue has so many good
finishers, that this will always be
overshadowed. Still, I think this is a pretty
good card. The fact that its toughness is
greater than 4 helps too.
In limited, this is
very strong. typically the best thing when it
comes out, and you'll lose a minor creature or
land. Play it if you've got it and are playing
blue.

This guy is a beatstick...period. In Limited he
can be a game winner and his drawback usually
amounts to not much. He is good enough to see
constructed play but I really haven't seen the
right deck for him just yet. He should be a high
draft pick and is a gift from heaven in sealed.

In constructed, I think
you'll find some people will use this as a control
finisher in OBC. Maybe, maybe not.
In limited, this card finishes people all the
time. 3/6 unblockable is hard to deal with,
especially when it hits fast.

I beat down with this guy more than once in the
last team qualifier. He's
uber hard to deal with, especially if he's your
1st non land play. He can be
more of a detriment if you draw him in the late
game when you have quality
permanents to bury.

Limited *****
Constructed ***
There are many forms of evasion, but not many of
them are perfect. Wormfang Crab has the
ultimate form of evasion and can come down very
quickly. Not only does swinging for 3 every
turn generate a serious clock, Wurmfang Crab is
VERY difficult to remove thanks to it's big fat
ass. I consider this a bomb in Limited.

This guy could easily be the next
control deck 'kill' mechanism. Its very
difficult to kill, can't be blocked, and when
you're only playing these guys
and land, chances are the drawback won't be much
of one. Always playable, a
3.5 in Limited, a 4 in Constructed. Too bad
this card is way outdone by
other kill cards like Psychatog. |
