A mainstay of the
Enchantress deck. The ability to draw
cards over an over is huge. Card advantage
is good, and huge card advantage wins games.
Here's an example of an Enchantress deck, though
there are really many versions out there:
4 Argothian
Enchantress
4
Wall of Blossoms
2
Auratog
Spells: (28)
4
Enchantress's Presence
4
Sterling Grove
4
Exploration
4
Rancor
2
Mirari's Wake
2
Sacred Mesa
2
Obliterate
2
Opalescence
2 Constant Mists
1 Arenson's Aura
1 Solitary Confinement
Lands: (22)
4 Savannah
2 Plains
3 Forest
2 Kor Haven
2 Krosan Verge
3 Brushland
2 Taiga
2 Plateau
1 Maze of Ith
1 Serra's Sanctum
In casual, the
Enchantress deck can really be fun, and is a
nice viable deck.
In limited, unless you
run into a boatload of Enchantments, it isn't
worth the space.

First, there was Verduran Enchantress. A
nice, simple concept of (re)gaining (lost)
card advantage from playing enchantments.
But at 0/2, it was vulnerable to all sorts
of removal.
So, enter this card. It's only a 0/1, but it
can't be targeted. So most of the removal
people would use to get rid of this won't
work. Unfortunately, the "can't be targeted"
clause cuts both ways. You'll have to find
some other creature to put all your
enchantments on. Still, a very solid
creature that eclipses its progenitor.
In limited, you usually won't play enough
enchantments for this car dto do any good.

Argothian Enchantress
Green enchantment combo decks with the PREVIOUS
Enchantress were nothing new
when Argothian Enchantress made the scene in
Urza's Saga. However, the Argothian addition to
the green enchantment Enchantress collection was
very decent in combo decks in Standard and Saga
Block Constructed. A card like this doesn't have
much to offer in limited play, even though there
were PLENTY of playable enchantments in the
Urza's Saga block.

Argothian Enchantress
Argothian Enchantress is such a superior version
of her Verduran sister. She costs one less, and
can not be the target of spells or abilities,
making her much more resistant to your
opponent’s deadly effects. And since she comes
out one turn earlier, those enchantment combo
decks can go off one turn faster. In short, this
girl is a powerhouse. If only someone would
teach her fashion sense.

Argothian Enchantress

Combo. There's not much else to think about.
When new enchantments come out, players first
look at this card and see how it effects an
Enchantress Deck. This is a key to one of the
best and most popular combo decks of all time.
However, for casual play and limited play, it's
not so good.

I'm not sure I can say anything bad about
the Enchantress. Any other card like this
would have me saying something along the
lines of, "Oh, but she can be easily killed"
or "oh, she costs too much for her size".
The ability to avoid targeted removal
nullifies the first statement, and as the
Enchantress draws cards, her size really
doesn't matter, so she is well-priced. The
fact that an insanely fun combo deck
revolves around the Enchantress doesn't
hurt, either.
In limited play, ignore the Enchantress --
she's OK if you have a lot of enchantments,
but how often do you wind up playing *that*
many?
For both Casual and Constructed, if you
build a deck around Enchantress, she is an
extremely powerful and worthwhile tool. The
only reason I won't give her a 5.0 is
because she only works in decks built to
abuse her.

Argothian Enchantress
Self-protecting makes her better than Verduran
enchantress, plus this one is cheaper. Adds
redundancy to the various appropriate combo
decks, and makes rancor AMAZING rather than just
amazing.

Combo this with
any recurring enchantment, think Rancor, and
get
Auratog to sac them to, you had the
basis of a pretty deadly Rogue deck in block
constructed. I guess R&D saw its power,
because instead of getting this as a
reprint, we get the original
Verduran Enchantress. Oh well.
Once again, I
have no idea how this did in limited. Poor I
guess, due to lack of comboing
opportunities.
In casual, I
don't care much for drawing after one
enchantment is discarded. It's not a large
body, and is only card draw. Pass.

Argothian Enchantress
Constructed - Hello Enchantress deck! Okay. So
enchantress doesnt have the flare it used to
have. But if your going to go enchantress, your
gonna go Argothian.
Casual - Enchantress decks are fun in casual
too! Very fun, where you can bring out some of
the sub-par, but still good enchantress cards.
Bring Whip Silks for GG: Draw a card. Put stuff
like Yavimaya Enchantress, so all those
enchantments also help.
Limited - Most, if not ALL of the playable
limited enchantments in Urza's are Rare or
common. Thats not to say there arent any common
good ones, look at pestilence. If you can get
the enchantments (youll really have to aim for
that kinda draft), than this card can be gold.
