Leonin Skyhunter
As much as I didn't like the 1/1 flying Suntail
Hawk on Monday, I love the
2/2 for two flying Leonin Skyhunter. For two
white mana, you used to get a
2/2 creature with protection from a color and
first strike (White Knight), so two white mana
for a flying 2/2 seems pretty fair. In
constructed play, little white guys like this
always find their way into some version of White
Weenie, a strategy that runs a lot of creatures
with a few powerful support cards like Wrath of
God. In limited, the Skyhunter is a star because
he provides early game evasive damage.

While I have a lot of reservations about a 1/1
flier for one mana, I must admit I have none
about a 2/2 flier for two mana. This guy is
fantastic in limited, especially in a format
heavy with equipment. In constructed, this guy
still feels great in a white weenie deck, and in
casual formats, as long as its not multi player
(where he lacks punch), this card is always
playable.

This guy is great. Generally having a 2/2
creature for two mana is acceptable. Getting
that same creatures with a useful ability is
even better. If you are playing white weenie,
this guy needs to be in. If you are playing
white in limited, this guy should easily make
the cut. This creature is all around solid.

Leonin Skyhunter --
Whenever I am looking to make a white weenie
deck in Type II right now, my list always
has four Leonin Skyhunter on it. For two
white mana, you cannot get a better buy for
power, toughness, and flight combined. It
does have the two white mana requirement,
meaning it can't be splashed easily, but it
will always be welcome in a white weenie
deck.
In limited, if my deck is even half white,
I'll play the Skyhunter. Why? When is the
first time that your opponent will be able
to put out a bigger creature that can block
the Skyhunter? You'll likely get at least
two swings out of him before your opponent
can muster some defense.

Another card I think blue deserves, and a bit
stronger in both constructed and limited than
Suntail Hawk. Not a Soltari, but it'll get the
job done.
