Karplusan Yeti
I wonder if this guy is getting his creature
type changed. I can't remember too many Yeti in
Magic. I'd imagine it will be changed to giant.
That doesn't change much as far as this card
goes though. This is generally a fun card. It
likely won't be in any of the popular decks, but
it's mildly useful. I'm sure casual players will
find some uses for this card, since it can keep
killing small creatures every turn. That's also
the same reason you will likely want it in
limited play.

Karplusan Yeti
Blah. I can think of several red creatures that
cost five that do an infinitely better job of
removing creatures from the board than Karplusan
Yeti -- and they won't die in the process! If
Karplusan Yeti was priced at four mana, I might
consider playing it, but as is, I doubt the Yeti
will do much once 9th Edition hits other than
eat up space in packs and, later, in your chafe
stack.
For limited play, I can go a little bit easier
on Karplusan Yeti. It does serve as both a dude
and a removal spell, so it will usually get to
make the cut into any deck that I run and have
red in.

Karplusan Yeti
While not the thing that constructed decks are
made of, Yeti does have some great appeal in the
limited realm. The ability to off 2 toughness
creatures at will, and 3 toughness in a jam,
makes Yeti a quick pick for Red. Just consider
using it at the end of turn step of your
opponent to avoid him using Sorcery speed burn
to finish your Yeti off.
In casual, it's okay, but not exactly pizzazzy,
so probably won't see much play.
