Skyshroud Behemoth

Ugh. Fading contributed several great cards, such as Blastoderm, Parallax Wave, and Saproling Burst. It even contributed OK cards, such as Skyshroud Ridgeback. Then there are cards like Skyshroud Behemoth. For seven mana, a 10/10 isn't a bad buy, right? Unfortunately, you only can swing with him two times unless you can find a way to untap him *and* give him haste the turn he comes into play. Two swings for 20 damage total isn't bad, right? Well, whenever a 0/1 can jump in the way and you take nothing, it is. Shouldn't this card have trample?

In limited play, I'm a bit up in the air on this card. Knowing that a quick swing in life totals can be valuable, I might actually consider playing this otherwise subpar rare -- it really would depend on the quality of the rest of my green cards.

Skyshroud Behemoth

Man. Seven mana for a 10/10 creature sounds great.

But it has fading? That's fine. I can get a couple of swings in with it before he fades away. It's only fading of two? Well, damn. That's no good.

At least it tramples. What...it doesn't trample either?

Why would I want to play this big green monster again?

Skyshroud Behemoth

A BIG guy, but his massive downfall is he does not have trample. What good is a 10/10 without trample. Usually not very if he can't stay on the board to at least eliminate your opponent's chumps, or do some blocking. Behemoth can only block for 2 turns, and he costs 7. Just not a good deal in any format.

Skyshroud Behemoth- Rare-Nemesis hey peoples,

today we have the uber crap rare from nemesis, Skyshroud Behemoth, and when I say uber crap I mean it too, in fact this card is just famous for being so bad =/

what makes this card soo bad is the fact that you get 2 turns to attack with a 10/10 non-trampling monster that the opponet will love to just chump block all day long well i have nothing more to say on this really bad dude

Ratings:

construced- 1/5 bad bad bad bad bad

limited- 1/5 you would think a 10/10 dude for 7 would be good in limited...

casual- 3/5 he only gets a 3 because he can be innovative in casual

final thought- sorry for all the negativity on todays card, tomorrows will be better

Skyshroud Behemoth - Back when Nemesis came out, this was pretty cool. It had been a while since we'd seen a truly large creature. Unfortunately, the incredible rules baggage of Fading and coming into play tapped - combined with a large casting cost - makes this just not very useful. Without even trample to get some damage in, it's likely to do nothing more than kill a couple of 1/1s or simply take a Terror in the face. The initial shock of a 10/10 creature wears off pretty quickly when you find one with quality this low. There are ways to make it work, but I think in the end you'll be better of with something else. Since Nemesis' release in 2000, there have been a lot of other big creatures printed. And most of them are more effective than the Behemoth.
