Outside of a "tutor" spell that puts a specific
card that you are looking for in your hand or on
top of your deck, Impulse is the best deck
searching spell ever. The only really bad thing
that ever happens with Impulse is when
there are two cards in the four cards you get to
look at that you REALLY need. The dumbest thing
people do with Impulse is use it to find OTHER
COPIES of Impulse in their deck. This practice
sort of shows that you are not decisive enough
to just pick another card. Impulsing for Impulse
is not a particularly strong play. However, this
IS a great card for limited or constructed. In
constructed, Impulse was a four-of play in EVERY
blue deck.
Impulse is probably one of the top five or ten
blue commons of all time.

Good card. Pick your draw from the top 4. You
don't lose the rest. It's an instant.

This little blue cantrip is nigh legendary.
Right up there in power level with Telling Time,
this thing made dedicated Blue counter decks a
nightmare, since they could use this in response
to your spell to go find a counter instead of
having to draw one normally. It's fairly safe to
say that this won't ever get reprinted, a
testament to its power.
