Civic Wayfinder is similar to a lot of other
cards out there. Anytime you can get a creature
and a land for 3 mana, that's usually a pretty
good thing. Cards like this tend to be decent in
multiple formats. It's going to be just a tad
weaker in constructed, but there are still a lot
of uses for cards like this one.
Civic Wayfinder
- A far cry from yesterday's travesty of a card.
This little guy has proven to be extremely
useful in Ravnica block drafting. Sakura-Tribe
Elder filled this role in Kamigawa, and look how
far that went. Wayfinder was a mid-pack pick in
RRR drafting, but times have changed. Now that
RRG drafting has taken its place, three color
decks are the standard. Being able to search out
that third land type is great. And a 2/2 body is
respectable in Ravnica block limited. Don't
expect to see these in the middle of the pack,
anymore.
A very helpful card in limited play. You get a
gray ogre (2/2 for 3), AND you get to thin your
deck and smooth your mana at the same time. Not
very exciting for Constructed or Casual, though
not unplayable either.
