The first previewed appearance of the Hellbent
mechanic is quite a complex little dragon. It
combines many of the things we've come to expect
from smaller dragons of the past, like Fledgling
Dragon or the original Dragon Whelp. It has
firebreathing. It can gain flying when it needs
to. And it has the potential to completely break
open for a devastating attack. Firebreathing
combined with double strike is obviously potent.
This card is something I fully expect to see
headlining a lot of red decks, be they Rakdos or
Gruul. A limited bomb, of course. It's a dragon,
and dragons almost always are.
The non-flying dragon. It will cost you RR to
get him in the air, but then he can pump. I
guess you have to look at it this way. He's a
3/3 for 4, which isn't horrible. Give him flying
if you need to, and pump his power too. If you
happen to have no cards in hand, then he becomes
a mean SOB that can double strike for fun and
profit. Nice!

Dragon
The Dragon seems pretty solid, but very mana
intensive. If you can spare at least two Red
mana, you've got a threat to be dealt with.
Especially if you have hellbent, in which case
each red mana is essentially +2/+0. But if
you're out of cards in hand, you must have spent
mana to cast them, right? It's a good card,
probably a staple in Red Decks Win for a while,
and a must-have for your casual dragon deck (a
deck desperate for something to do before Turn
Six), but in limited I'd probably take it if
only to not have it used against me. This card
requires a heavy red commitment, which you just
can't promise it in Limited.
