This is probably the best creature in
Dissension. "Triple S" is a game-winning monster
in limited. In limited, Simic Sky Swallower
instantly puts your opponent on a very short
clock. SSS has trample, just in case your
opponent thinks he can buy time by chump
blocking with little flyers.
Finally, SSS is untargetable, which is
occasionally suboptimal for you, but which is
completely and probably fatally suboptimal for
your opponent. Even at seven mana, the Sky
Swallower is very easy to play in limited. The
combination of blue/green can definately be a
good one in RGD draft, when you can pull it off.
About the worst thing you can say about Simic
Sky Swallower in booster draft is that he
arrives so late in your draft (first or second
pick in your last pack) that he can be fit into
your deck if you have not already adopted blue
and green as your colors. Even as a fourth color
splash, however, this card is a game winner and
a wrecking machine for your opponent. This guy
also easily makes the cut for constructed. Even
though Dissension had only been out a few weeks
before this year's Regionals, several Dissension
cards made a real impact, none more than the
powerful and hard to stop Simic Sky Swallower.
He is a house in all formats.
I built a Simic deck when this card came out,
because I wanted to play it so bad. I'm glad he
lived up to the hype. This card if good fun in
every format. The only downside is his expensive
cost. Other than that, it's quite an amazing
card. He's a solid constructed creature. Casual
players love it because it's a big creature
that's hard to stop. Sealed and booster draft
players love to open this card. All around
solid.

Rawr! This flyer is pretty hot at the moment.
6/6 Flying Tramplers are really not fun to deal
with. It's a bit expensive, but apparently worth
the price, as our website is always running low
on them. Good in any format.
What can I say about the SSS that hasn't been
said before? It's huge, it's reasonably costed,
it's incredibly hard to kill and it has trample.
It also comes from one of the most popular and
powerful color combinations of all time. The
combination of huge creatures, card drawing and
countering ability has been popular ever since
somone in 1993 opened a Tropical Island and said
"what if"? That legacy continues today and this
is the product. No matter the format, casting
this card successfully gives you a huge chance
of winning.
