Another Soldier of fortune. Soldiers are
probably the worst creature type of the eight
that Odyssey made broken, but still pretty
awesome. If you liked Odyssey, you'll love this
guy. Even in Coldsnap he's got some playmates,
but nothing spectacular. He works in a Surging
Sentinels deck in limited, but that's about it.
Like Lovisa, yesterday, the Field Mashall has
the unfortunate attribute of potentially pumping
your opponent's creatures. However, unlike the
chieftess, this one's not legendary. Instead
it's a return to the good old 3-mana lords that
we know and love. There's a lot of good soldiers
out there. The Boros and Azorius have seen to
that. Soldiers are likely to remain one of the
preeminent tribes for a long time as well.
Though I don't see tribal making a big splash in
standard, there's a lot of fun to be had with
this guy.
Hello once again, I'm back with the COTD to help
any fellow players in building decks with cards
and...yeah you know what I'm talking about.
Anyway, I have yet to really get into Coldsnap
yet, but from what i see here is a pretty solid
card. From the way i see it, It's the "Goblin
King" of Soldiers. I say It's pretty good in
Constructed i would think, yet im not sure how
many soldiers are in Coldsnap, so I can't say
much for Limited. This does however, power up
your oppenets creatures as well, that is a
downside. Not really a main gamewinner, but i
believe it'll make great support in the series,
and of course may even find its way into white
weenie as well.
Constructed~ 3
Casual~2.5
Limited~1.7 (I'm not so sure about Coldsnap,
sorry if I'm wrong)
