First of all, I love all Guildmages. This
Guildmage comes closer to being
constructed-worthy than most of the others.
Obviously, this card will be most valuable in
limited play, where both of Gruul Guildmage's
abilities will be very useful.

Gruul
Guildmage
Again, another solid offering for Red/Green
decks, and one that may see some constructed
play. Sacrificing some land to get in that last
bit of damage to finish off your opponent is
awfully appealing. The Guildmages have a great
advantage in that they are only 2 cost
creatures, most with some very solid abilities.
Everyone is raving about Red/Green possibilities
this set, and Gruul Guildmage could fit right
into that. A first or early pick in limited,
too.

I wish this card were better. The activation
cost on it make it less than favorable I think.
Seeing what tricks Red/Green has at it's
disposal, paying four mana to activate this guy
is only going to be worth it if it's setting up
the kill.
