I like this card, particularly for limited play,
but possibly for constructed as well. In
limited, a 4/4 for four mana (assuming you are
playing a lot of black and white) is pretty
good, and this card's come into play ability is
useful and its activated ability makes it even
better. Just in case you were wondering, if you
activate the Ghost Council's ability to remove
itself from the game temporarily by sacrificing
ITSELF, it goes to the graveyard. You see,
paying the activation cost by sacrificing the
Ghost Council itself puts the Ghost Council in
the graveyard before the ability resolves. When
the ability resolves, it will not find Ghost
Council in play and will not be able to remove
it from the game. It might seem like the ability
could remove it from the graveyard and bring it
back to play later, but such is not the case,
according to the Frequently Asked Questions
document from Wizards issued last week. I always
wanted black and white to be really good
together in constructed, but it just never seems
to work out.
This card probably does not have much a future
in constructed play because of the double mana
intensity in two different colors in a color
combination that seems more problematic than
most.

Ghost Council of Orzhova
An
interesting card, especially in limited. You
need to be going solid B/W to pull it off,
but if you are, it's a solid 4/4 for only 4,
with a useful jump ability. Probably not
much for the casual crowd, though.

I like this card. It's a 4/4 for four mana. That
makes it playable in my eyes. But it does cause
a life swing of two when it comes into play.
But, what really makes this card stand out, is
the long term life swing it can cause. In
creature battles, you can do a lot of things
with damage on the stack to gain an even bigger
advantage. And in limited, this guy is sure to
be a first pick.

Ghost Council
of Orzhova - Sound for the fanfare - this may be
the strongest white/black creature to date.
Certainly it's the most cost effective. It
remains to be seen whether the ability is of any
use whatsoever, but my experience with the
Orzhov so far has taught me that the deck needs
a nice solid body to put some pressure on, and
this is just what I'm looking for. The ability
to control your haunt triggers with it's ability
and also to dodge removal makes this an
incredible find. I'm looking forward to opening
this in draft.
