This card is very useful, in the right kind of
deck. Late in 2005, the “right kind of deck” was
a Zombie deck built around pushing lots of cards
into the graveyard via Dredge, and then allowing
the Ichorids put into the graveyard to pop out
and attack turn after turn. Almost
single-handedly, Ichorid qualified perhaps
dozens of players into Pro Tour Honolulu. In
limited, Ichorid is NOT all that. In limited,
the advantage gained by Ichorid’s ability would
not be as powerful and would not affect your
games nearly as greatly as in constructed where
you can have four Ichorids in your deck.

Anyone who knows anything about the Extended
tournament scene knows that this card and the
deck built around it is THE deck to beat,
rivaling even Psychatog. It doesn't look it at
first glance, though, because to really shine it
needs the whole deck built around it. Of course,
there are plenty of ways to build a deck around
it, ranging from cut thraot tournament builds to
goofy combos that'll give the lunch table a good
laugh.
