It looks like I get to be a "Negative Nancy"
this week. I don't really care for this card
either. It's a little overcosted in my eyes. The
creatures comes with such a small backside that
it's going to die to nearly everything. The fact
that it's protected from multicolor is nice, but
that's a fact likely only to come up in limited
play.
I rather enjoy this card. It's got a nice big
power and a very relevant ability. Unfortunately
it's got a very fair casting cost attached to
it. I say unfortunately because it's the kind of
card that could only be really good if it was a
bit unbalanced. It does fill a role, however.
There's an awful lot of multicolored creatures
and effects out there and this guy just laughs
at those. You never know when this guy will be
able to hold back something nasty like an Argus
Kos or a Rumbling Slum. It's one of those
building block creatures for limited that is
perfectly reasonable to play. Don't expect to
see it lighting up the constructed tables any
time soon, though.
Interesting. If you really feel you're going to
be smashed in the multicolor metagame, this
would be great if it didn't cost 5. A nice
concept, though. In limited, I would sideboard
it in if I felt my opponent had sufficient icky
multi color stuff to worry about. Not really for
casual.

It seems great, since all the best cards in
Standard and Block these days are multicolored,
right? Well, there's still quite a few
monocolored cards out there, so it'll just be a
4/2 in a good number of cases. Standard has
better options, but this'll be a consideration
in Limited for a while, if only because it's
common and there'll be quite a few in the card
pool.

Eeewww! A five drop that’s only a 4/2 and the
only thing he has going for him is that he has
protection from multicolored. That’s a game
breaker right there. Seriously, if you cast this
guy your opponent just might give you the game
out of pity.
I’m sorry but what good things can I say about
this guy? At least he doesn’t cost six?
.5/5 (Yes, he gets a ˝ out of five.)

Yet another eeewww! This is the card you’ll be
stuck with in a draft, the card that goes around
so many times and once there are only two cards
left the person passing you this guy will have a
smile on his face. Why you ask? Well, look at
things this way... he didn’t get stuck with him.
Its cards like this one that make me glad I have
a fire place...
