I felt like this card might turns some heads in
blue/white control type decks. But so far, it's
brought nothing interesting about. It's able to
suck up damage. You eventually get a 7/7 for
just four mana. Just for some reason it doesn't
seem to be impressive enough to merit playing.
Maybe when Kamigawa block rotates out, players
will give this card a look.
It's never going to attack. Not outside of a
weird white Power Conduit deck. But that's
because no one will attack into it, so it makes
an excellent attack discourager.
It's a
very large obstacle that many decks will have
trouble getting over. That's reason enough to
give this a second look. Any 7/7 for four mana
is worth a second look. The drawback here is
pretty vicious though. You won't be able to use
this until your opponent lets you, basically.
Unless they send things to attack into it (which
won't die), then you've got a big wall on your
hands. Of course, if you combined this with a
creature that could allow your defenders to
attack (Wakestone Gargoyle) then you might have
something. Not exactly a Standard-quality combo,
but funny all the same.
