When I first saw this card, I loved it. A 1/1
flyer for two mana that comes
back into play whenever it goes to the
graveyard! Oh, wait a minute, it’s
only when Narcomoeba goes to the graveyard from
your library, only when it
is Millstone’d into the graveyard or put there
by another effect like
Dredge. Too bad. What about just thinking about
Narcomoeba as a 1/1 flyer
for two mana? Just not good enough, not for
limited. For constructed, could
Narcomoeba be a cool part of a carefully
designed Dredge deck? Probably not.
Dredge is cool, and there are decks built around
Dredging that are extremely
popular in Extended Constructed. Those decks
don’t have a room for
Narcomoeba, and neither should your decks.
It's a 1/1 flier. And ONLY a 1/1 flier. I
suppose if your deck is full of Scry cards and
also Dredge cards, the ability MIGHT trigger
once in ten games. Otherwise, it's a 1/1 flier.

A really good card for a few select decks. The
obvious combo is with dredge, as hitting one of
these gives you a free 1/1 flier in addition to
your dredge card back. It has other applications
in many decks as well (I hear hitting this with
a Mental Note is not a bad thing). This'll get
played in all sorts of decks that can support it
for a while.
In casual, I'm sure you can come up with a funky
combo involving these guys.
In limited, I'll pass, as you don't want to be
milling yourself and a 1/1 flier for 2 isn't
really worth it.

Does the art on this card remind anyone else of
Man-o'-War? You could sideboard Narcomoeba
against milling decks, if milling decks were
viable. Since they're not, Narcomoeba will have
to settle for being looked at as a free creature
in Ichorid decks in Vintage. That is quite the
rare privilege for creatures, though it's not
much good in any other deck. If you're not the
tournament type, I suppose it also boosts your
Krovikan Mists, but most of the time it's just a
1/1 flyer for two. In limited, Narcomoeba will
never be put into play for free, but it's a
flying creature. You may as well play it - one
extra evasive damage might be all you need. Also
there's Unstable Mutation and Petrified Plating
in the format.

Constructed: You wouldn’t think that a 1/1 flier
with a conditional perk would see that much
play, but dredge and ichorid decks everywhere
are rejoicing at a free beater for them. In fact
I believe on of the vintage players is already
using this creature as an exploitation resource
in a manaless deck that consistently wins on
turn one. Outside of that I’m really not sure
how much more of a splash it will make on
constructed.
Casual/Multi: Another flying Illusion for
tribal? Not all that impressive I’m afraid. Yes
maybe if you want to explore the degenerate
dredge decks that constructed players seem to
love, but really unless your meta is full of
mill decks then it’s really not going to be that
good.
Limited: A 1/1 flier might be okay, but will
lose to just about anything else in the air. In
limited the only real chance you have of having
this come into play with its ability is if your
opponent is using Whetstone or if you’re using
Dakmoor Salvage.
Constructed: 3.5 (Only if using it in one of the
deck ideas listed)

The johnnies will love this card. It has
combo all over it. I just can't see it
really helping any viable constructed deck
at this time. A 1/1 flier just does not cut
the mustard, even if he is free when you
dredge or manipulate it out of your
library. This may fill a two mana creature
slot in limited but hopefully you have
better. For casual...I like it.

I'm going to bunch them all up into one: it's a
1/1 flyer for 1U with a gimmicky ability. That
is all.

The chances of you getting this for free is so
low that it's next to impossible.
Add in the fact that even if you do get it for
free it's still next to useless
and you get a completely unplayable card in any
format.
Still, it does recover some points in limited
just because of flying.
