A G/U/B dragon? That gets SIX +1/+1 counters
whenever it attacks and connects(if you pay 2G)?
It looks absolutely amazing. But let's think
about it seriously for a while--you amass 3GUB,
and cast this guy. He attacks, you connect, he
grows to a 12/12. Attack again, you
connect--wait, do you get more counters? No,
because the game's over. Or your opponent
Condemned it or something. The phrase "put six
+1/+1 counters" hints at a size this guy will
never grow to. Also, G/U/B is an almost unheard
of combination, so I don't see this guy seeing
nearly as much tournament play as his brothers.
But he'll always have a slot in Sam's five-color
dragon deck that he likes to bring out every so
often to show off to the kids at the card shop.
And his steadily increasing beatdown could be
useful in breaking up the Martyr of Sands combo
wreaking havoc in Standard currently. Also, he
is in the colors of mana acceleration and
reanimation, and he does demand to be answered
fast, so there may be a rogue deck waiting for
him.
I think he will be useable. Lately, it seems the
dragons comeing out of Wizards R&D are pretty
strong. I don't reall ylike this ability as much
as the other dragons in this set, but it's still
a solid finish. The only downside though is that
this color combo already has Simic Sky Swallower.

Aethereal
Vorosh, the
Hunter
A Timmy card if there ever was one. Part of a
spin-off on the cycle of Invasion dragons,
Vorosh gets bigger every time he hits...much
bigger. He does win the game quickly, but he's
tricky to cast. If U/G/B control ever pops up as
a deck type, expect this guy to be in it as he
finishes off your opponent very quickly. Right
now, however, I don't see him getting a lot of
play due to the colors he is.
In casual, he's a big dragon. He'll be very
popular.
In limited, I'd grab him if I were playing 2 of
the 3 colors and then splash the third. He's an
absolute bomb.
This card is part of a cycle that mirrors the
very popular cycle of Legendary Dragons from
Invasion. Each of the new dragons use a twisted
combination of colors to help quench Timmy's
unslakable thirst for huge flying fatties.
And what a fatty! You thought 6/6 was big? Smack
someone with this once, and it becomes a 12/12.
This thing can get HUGE. Over the course of a
chaos game with some friends, provided you
somehow stop the rain of Putrefys, Condemns, and
Pongifys (Shielding Plax, anyone?) this thing
can grow to truly epic proportions. While clunky
in a constructed tournament as a win condition,
the wow factor of this card is quite high in a
casual multiplayer game, especially when it
starts destroying opponents with a single swing.
Constructed 1/5. This is not a constructed card,
plain and simple.
Limited 4/5. Running the right colors or some
Zombify variants? You just got your bomb.
Casual 5/5. Huge flying dragon. Cool art. Huge
effect. Savage beats. You will have loads of fun
with this, as well as the other dragons of the
cycle.
