It's a 2/2 for three that can draw you cards and
gain you life... if it successfully hits the
player. In a Kithkin deck, there's a strong
possibility it will, but there's also a strong
possibility that you'll flip over a pretty cheap
card and not gain much life. It's still an
Ophidian effect though, at a decent cost for its
size, so it's worth running. Even if your
opponent jumps through hoops to keep it from
connecting, they probably let something bigger
through.

Thursday - Augury Adept
Draw tacked onto a body is typically pretty
good, and this guy isn't so bad himself,
especially with the life gain bonus attached.
Might see play in a U/W Fish deck, but probably
not, because the Faerie deck covers that role
quite nicely in standard right now. So, I don't
think it'll really find a home in constructed.
In limited, if you have a way to give this thing
evasion, I would definitely play it, but
otherwise, it comes down a little too late to
probably be of much use.

Dark Confidant meets Dimir Cutpurse? On the face
the Adept looks much better than Dark Confidant
because it makes you gain life rather than lose
life, but it's actually quite balanced by virtue
of having to damage the opponent. Against the
decks where you want the life boost, it's going
to be harder to get her through to deal damage.
People are going to have a lot of fun enchanting
Augury Adept with Griffin Guide or Steel of the
Godhead. Like Dimir Cutpurse in its time, the
effect is powerful enough that people are going
to find a way to play the Adept, inbuilt evasion
or no.

If you can provide this guy with some evasion,
it is a great card. However, otherwise, nobody
in their right mind will let this guy through.
An extra card plus some life is a great ability!
The cost is quite reasonable. In a world with
some enchantments (auras) this card may see
constructed play.

This is useless against aggro because if they
can't get rid of it, you're probably winning
anyway. It's decent against control because the
card drawing is always nice and the life gain,
although less relevant, is a plus. That said, I
still don't think this card will ever see
constructed play because it's too slow against
aggro and the life gain isn't good enough for
control to run a Shadowmage Infiltrator without
evasion.

Constructed: It has some possiblities in
constructed, but with so much creature hate
and it can be block, it will not see much
play. It's a interesting Shadowmage variant.
Casual:
Funs decks and multiplayer it should be fun
to play with.
Limited:
Playing blue or white it fits into those
colors with no problem. Three mana for a 2/2
is not bad. It's ability is awesome for
Sealed and Draft. If you can give some way
of doing combat damage, fear, flying or
unblockable, you will gain card advantage
and gain life. Which will get you ahead of
the game. If you get a Armored Ascension on
it or Steel of the Godhead(just sick) or
have a Deepchannel Mentor in play, make it
bigger with Thistledown Liege or for fun
Mirrorweave during combat. This is just
cards from Shadowmoor.
Somebody
will break this card for Block it is very
good, but Shadowmoor has a lot of creature
removal with all of the wonder -1/-1
counters running around.
