Its only real place is in a
deck with a good deal of -1/-1 counter
shenanigans, particularly creatures with
persist.In such a deck, it's a fairly powerful
attacker.It also forms a two-card infinite combo
with Devoted Druid, which is reason enough to
play it.

Everybody knows about the combo with Devoted
Druid, but other than that combo this guy is
actually pretty useful. You can use it with any
creature that either puts -1/-1 counters on
itself, or comes into play with -1/-1 counters (helloooooo
Kitchen Finks), and pump this guy up big time. I
think this will see some play in Standard, but
it needs a deck to go into first.
In limited, slightly situational, but still
pretty good. I wouldn't pick it higher than
3rd-4th pick though.

This character looks like a simple,
cost-effective answer to wither and Kulrath
Knight, and a fun way to interact with
cumulative upkeep. There's also a rather famous
infinite combo with Devoted Druid - just watch
out for Condemn! All in all, a fun card to play
with which can be a real lifesaver in limited
games.

Constructed:
1/1 for 3 mana do not last very long in
constructed play.
Casual:
Looks like a fun card to combo with, just have
not found anything yet to use with.
Limited:
You will have to draft alot of persist creatures
to really get some good use of this little guy.
Or some really good persist dudes. Get some of
those Scarecrows that come with -1/-1 counters
on them, like Chainbreaker from Shadowmoor.
Overall a cool creature for a green or black
deck used with the -1/-1 counters. Give it
flying or trample and it can be really
dangerous.
