Most of the exalted creatures in Alara remind me
of the five "Surging" spells in Coldsnap;
they're designed mainly for limited, where one
copy does all the action but you need as many as
you can. Court Archers fits perfectly into that
role, occupying a convenient cost between Knight
of the Skyward Eye and Rhox Charger and being
able to defend against other early creatures
like Rip-Clan Crasher. Again, not quite
efficient enough for high-level constructed
play, but a great card to have around in drafts.

Court Archers
This is a reasonable card for limited. You get a
flying defense (many shards flyers have a two
power) and exalted. I like to draft exalted and
this combined with what white can do early on,
makes for a quick bant deck. Will not see play
in constructed decks though.

Court Archers
Constructed:
Just another common common that will not see
high level play. And it is not a Elf.
Casual:
Good card for new players to help against
flyers. Exalted for a green deck could be
dangerous.
Limited:
A good pick for against blue flyers and maybe
help one big green fatty get even bigger. Not
that great against the Dragons and some Angels
in this set.
Overall a good common but not good enough for
the big shows.

Archers
Eh, not bad but not exactly good either.
Strictly limited material. This really
fights with Guardians Of Akrasa for a spot in
your deck. Both cost 3 while the Archers trades
1 point of toughness for 1 point of power and
reach. I tend to value the archers for their
reach since your not likely to be attacking with
either anyway. A decent pick for Bant but
nothing special
