It kinda bugs me having to
review cards that are the fuel for top-tier
combos.Obviously the card is getting played in
the highest tier tournament decks, but that's
because of the combo. What are the card's own merits?
In this case, not too bad. It's a 4/3 flier for five mana. When it dies, you get a few small
creatures back from the graveyard. And if you need those small creatures
more than you need the 4/3 flier, you can have
them now for one extra mana. It's a solid beater with built-in card
advantage. That's good enough for Limited, and in
Constructed, well...
Constructed- 4.5

Reveillark
The fact that there is a whole deck named after
this card in Standard is almost a sufficient
statement about its quality on its own. The rest
is provided by its versatility and broad
applicability - it can form part of a combo, or
attack for four flying damage, or give your
creatures resilience to removal. From Standard's
Blink decks to Vintage's Hulk Flash and
everywhere in between, Reveillark is certain to
be a mainstay for years to come.
