In the right kind of deck, Mycoloth is a better
Verdant Force. If you pair it with creatures
like Elvish Visionary, Ravenous Rats, or
Phyrexian Rager, who you don't mind so much
losing once they've done their job, it's
devastating. But in a deck not specifically
designed for it, Verdant Force is a better
Mycoloth.

Mycoloth
This guy intrigues my "build around me" side. If
fungus ever needed a great card, this could be
it. I had a saproling deck that made use of the
card (can't remember the name) that gave you a
second upkeep. I could see some early
acceleration into this guy and then devour away.
You have the potential of pumping out an awful
lot of saprolings each turn. For the mere
devouring of one creature paired with the double
upkeep enchantment you get 4 creatures on each
of your following turns. Lets just hope it lives
till the upkeep. Great in limited as removal is
harder to come by.

Mycoloth
Constructed:
Not to many good Fungi in standard. A 4/4 for 5
mana is okay, but not going to see any serious
tournament play. The Devour and ability to put
out tokens each turn is good, but not good
enough for tournament decks.
Casual:
This Fungus should see some serious play in the
casual room.
Limited:
There is a very small nich for Devour in Draft
or Sealed deck. Very good card to increase your
creature advantage. But there is a good amount
of creature hate in Shards limited. It will go
good with Topan Ascetic or Algae Gharial.
Overall a good green card for the fun with
Fungus decks.

Mycoloth Creature - Fungus
Devour 2 (As this comes into play, you may
sacrifice any number of creatures. This creature
comes into play with twice that many +1/+1
counters on it.)
At the beginning of your upkeep, put a 1/1 green
Saproling creature token into play for each
+1/+1 counter on Mycoloth.
4/4
Nice card all around. Next to Predator Dragon
I'd have to say this is the best devour card.
Devour 1 creature and get 6/6 that makes 2 1/1
every turn, not bad at all. Absolute bomb in
limited if you cand evour even that 1 creature,
this will win you the game unless answered. In
casual it's big and makes tons of small dudes so
I'm sure it will find a home somewhere. I think
it suffers in contructed however as no deck
really has a place for it.
