Tuesday - Heartlash Cinder

I find this kind of hard to use, because it has no evasion of any sort. It does have haste, which is nice, but this wants to come down later, not earlier, and so your opponent will likely have a way to block it or something. Also, after it gets its bonus, it's just a 1/1 for 2, which is pretty bad for red.

I wouldn't play this in limited either, unless you are very heavy red or have a lot of R/X hybrid cards.

Heartlash Cinder

I've seen decks where this card could attack for about eight damage, under the right circumstances. Unfortunately, it'll sometimes be hard to keep enough creatures on the table for him to work with - he almost suffers from other red creatures being so good that people want to destroy them on sight! Most of the time, he'll be a 2/1 or 3/1 haste that isn't going to have enough impact on the game to be worth it. I'm not saying this card will never see play (scroll down and look at how wrong I was about Detritivore way back when Planar Chaos was released!), but I expect there will probably be better options.

Heartlash Cinder

Constructed: To small not fast enough. Rather stick with the Raging Goblin or Mogg Fanatic. It will be a 2/1 on second turn. Late came it could be huge, find a way to give it trample or unblockable or some way of getting threw.

Casual: Not big for any casual deck or multi-player deck.

Limited: Building a fast red deck it is perfect. Being common they can really put the pressure on your opponent to put something in it's way or it will start hurting. If I open up a Rage Reflection, these little buggers can get dangerous.

Chroma - When Heartlash Cinder comes into play, it gets +X/+0 until end of turn, where X is the number of red mana symbols in the mana costs of permanents you control.
1/1

Nothing to say here really. Doubtfull that you'll have many R symbols in play. It can get chumped easily with no evasion. At most your looking at 4 damage. I'd rather run an X burn spell in its place. However it does have a chance in limited with hybrid mana symbols, so I might take it a bit higher.
