Green finally gets a decent 2/2 for G. The
drawback really isn't that bad in a MGA-type
deck, because you should always have a creature
spell or two handy, and if you don't, it's
probably the late game where this guy paves the
way for bigger beaters. MGA is a good block deck
and this guy is one of the reasons why.
In limited, I'd probably play him if I got him,
but I wouldn't pick him that high. Don't even
maindeck him if you don't have a heavy green
component, though (remember, green hybrid cards
are still green).

Nettle Sentinel
I've always thought that green needed and
deserved creatures this good. Sure, the
disadvantage looks pretty serious, but you don't
really need a creature like this to attack after
about the third turn, which is also about the
time you're likely to start running out of green
spells from your original hand. It also has two
relevant creature types, which means that even
in mono-green a deck that starts with the
Sentinel can deal a surprisingly large amount of
damage very fast.

Nettle Sentinel
Constructed:
This little elf needs a home. Great one drop but
elves are not very high for block or standard.
Casual:
Great one drop for the casual elf deck of doom.
Limited:
Go heavy in green this little dude is great. Get
more than one because it is common. Not drafted
a green base deck in awhile. May try it out next
time.
Overall a great common elf that requires you to
play heavy green to make him work.

Nettle Sentinel doesn't untap during your untap
step.
Whenever you play a green spell, you may untap
Nettle Sentinel.
2/2
Nice early beater, combo potential, Cool card.
Play it turn 1, swing for 2 turn 2, play another
green creature and untap it to block. I don't
see MGA being to big in the current meta but you
never know with Alara.
