Not a bad card, but definitely not as strong as
the other planeswalkers in the set. The
mini-Stasis ability is OK, but nothing
spectacular. Lightning Helix is good, and
one-sided Geddon is great. The problem is that
Sarkhan Vol is so much better than this, and by
the time you build up to the Geddon effect it
probably won't matter that much.
In limited, this is better, as you can keep a
big threat locked down and then throw Lightning
Helixes all day. I wouldn't bother with the
Geddon effect here; by the time you get to it,
it probably won't matter.

Ajani Vengeant
I can't wait to see how they explain what
happened to Ajani and why he's red now.
Regardless of what the deal with that is, Ajani
Vengeant is an excellent multi-purpose card. I
like the fact that his +1 ability can affect
lands (very important now that the Tenth Edition
let everyone get a bunch of copies of Treetop
Village and Faerie Conclave). He doesn't quite
demand that a deck be made for him, but I find
it hard to believe that no-one has a deck that
will want him.

Ajani Vengeant
Constructed:
So far these Planeswalkers have not empress most
players. This one is okay. If there is some big
bad creature, like a certain Dragon, you do not
want to untap. Or he is just a expensive
Lightning Helix. If you can keep him out for 4
turns than you get to blow up all of someones
lands. Interesting.
Casual:
Planeswalkers are really big in this area.
Multi-player he is useless. Nobody will not want
their lands destroyed.
Limited:
Mythic rares are going to make the drafting and
sealed deck process a little different from
other sets. 4 Mana for a Lightning Helix is
good. If your opponent does not have many
creatures than the keeping one lock down for 4
turns can be great. IF, thats a big if you keep
him out until he has 7 counters than you won the
game. Glad its Mythic.
Overall a cool Planeswalker. We
will see how well it does with the others.

Ajani Vengeant 2RW
+1: Target permanent doesn't untap during its
controller's next untap step.
-2: Ajani Vengeant deals 3 damage to target
creature or player and you gain 3 life.
-7: Destroy all lands target player controls.

Nice is all I can say. Being the prerelease card
should hopefully keep this cards price down.
Creature Control? Yes please
Lightning Helix on a stick? Yes please
One-sided Armageddon? Hell Yes
This is good in all formats. In constructed it
is very powerful (don't forgot it can take down
other planeswalkers) able to protect it self and
you while building loyalty counters. Don't
assume you'll always get to 7 though, opponent
will go out of their way to prevent that.
However this means they have to stop focusing on
you so use it to your advantage
Limited gold, repeatable creature removal is
king in limited so take this if your in the
right colours, (maybe even consider a splash?)
Casual, this will make for some interesting
politics, get another player to help you defend
it up to 7 counters and take someone else out of
the game, just remember your going to have to
deal with the person that helped you.
