Spark Elemental was cool. This you get a second
use out of, so it's good. What more can I say?

I keep getting this guy mixed up with the Tenth
Edition's Spark Elemental. Did they really have
to name them the same thing? (But I guess
there's only so many names for "small fire." And
Hellflare Elemental wouldn't have sounded good.)
Naming problems aside, the only thing better
than a miniature Ball Lightning is two miniature
Ball Lightnings - and nobody uses Relic of
Progenitus against burn decks.

I was not surprised to see some winning pro-tour
constructed decks with this little guy in them.
This unassuming fellow is a great second round
play. The great thing about him is he is a great
second round play and then, for the same cost,
make him a 3rd, 4th, 5th, or 6th round play.
Perfect card for red beatdown style decks.
Expect to see him for a while...

This is card is decent since you're looking at 4
mana for 5-6 damage early game or some card
advantage if they decide to block it. This card
kind of sucks against Kitchen Finks though (like
most Red cards) in addition to larger creatures
like Rhox War Monk so it loses a lot of power in
mid game. Drawing a 4th copy is almost never
good, but the first 2 are pretty awesome and the
3rd copy is workable. Definitely on the try list
and working out the right build for RDW.
In limited, I have no idea since I've never
actually played with it in the format, so I'll
give a generic score.

Constructed:
I am surprise to have not seen this card in any
Red decks. A potential of 6 damage and with 4
copies in a deck it is possible to deal 24
damage. Of course that is in a perfect world
where your opponent is not doing anything.
Casual:
It's okay with quick damage, but after the game
goes on for awhile bigger creatures well start
getting into the way.
Limited:
Drafting a fast burn deck is possible, but he is
a uncommon, so even in a all Conflux draft if
more than four show up I would be a little
suprise. Unearth is a very good ablitity for
Draft and Sealed decks. Only Esper is hard to
beat.
Overall a good uncommon but there are a couple
of uncommons that are alot better...

A new aggressive red card to consider in a RDW
deck. The card will always be good in limited as
you can always use another 3 damage. The unearth
makes it better than the lightning elemental in
my opinion. Don't think constructed will touch
this guy as RDW will most likely not use
creatures. Perhaps in older formats. Great in a
direct damage casual deck for fans of red.
