Without a black permanent, this is a little
weak. Three mana for a Shock? But if you can
"turn it on", it's practically better than black
removal. I don't see a "nonblack" clause here,
or anything else lame like that. Just destroy a
creature. For 2R. Dark Banishing can't even
claim that, although it does say "can't be
regenerated". Remember, Shadowmoor is still
legal, so even in a mono-red deck you could turn
this on with a black/red hybrid card like
Ashenmoor Gouger. In fact, in a mono-red burn
deck with a few red/black hybrids, this would
handily take out any creature that's too big to
burn down.

Dark Temper
For those Jundians out there, this card is
great. Instants that kill any creature will find
play. In limited, this is good if you can stick
to two colors. In constructed there might be
better choices for many decks but in a Jund deck
there is not. As a common expect this as a
surprise in limited combat. Not a standout in
multiplayer.
