Constructed:
A 3/3 for 3 mana flying is a very good bargain.
The ability to pump her up permanently makes her
really good. She will be a great replacemant for
Doran when every thing changes in the fall.
Block deck with Rafiq of the Many she can fly
over for at least 7 damage. Add a couple of
Noble Hierarachs and fly in for more damage.
Hope they do not have a Path to Exile...
Casual &
Multiplayer:
Everybody likes Angels. Use her as your General
for EDH deck. That can be real fun.
Limited:
Opening up one of these Mythic rares will be
great to build a deck around. If she shows up
and they have now way to deal with her than it
is game. Bant is very strong in limited and
draft.
Overall I like this Angel, I think all good
Angels for here on out should be Mythic rare. To
bad Serra is going to be uncommon again.

Magic The Gathering COTD: Jenera, Asura of War
Greetings welcome to today’s card of the day,
today we are looking at a legendary angel with
humongous potential in Bant decks. Jenera, Asura
of War is a 3/3 flying creature for GWU that can
pump itself by paying 1W to add +1/+1 counters
on itself. In competitive Bant has a huge
variety of creature’s available to it and that
number only expands upon the release of Alara
Reborn. This creature provides a solid early
game threat as an efficiently priced flyer that
later in the game you can pump your extra mana
into to turn it into a truly devastating must
deal with flying threat, its legendary status
doesn’t hurt to any large extent as legendary
creatures with great abilities see play
regardless of drawback associated with playing
legendary creatures. Possibly in extended this
card could see play post rotation in a
controlish GWU deck, legacy and vintage say nay
as it has creatures with lower mana costs with
even more broken effects. In casual flying
angels are never a bad choice, a flying angel
that can turn into a big fattie in a few turns
provides a solid addition to angel decks or any
decks that can support the tri-colored mana cost
but most casual players may sway away from cards
requiring such a heavy mana investment as a
terror can quickly turn your mana investment
into a bust.. In limited the mythic rarity means
you are unlikely to see this but if you’re in
Bant colors a flying self pumping creature is a
must pick. Watch out for removal and save enough
mana open to cast other threats as well!
