There's a reason this card is seeing so much
play. A 3/2 with haste for four is playable on
its own, but getting a second spell for free
makes this so powerful. The random factor can be
mitigated by building your deck appropriately
and/or remembering what you've played/drawn, but
even with the randomness, you're getting two
spells for the price of one. And one is a 3/2
with haste, making for one explosive turn.
Even jaded pros are talking about Alara Reborn
with some interest, largely because of this
card. She tutors for Seismic Assault! She nukes
Bitterblossom tokens! She makes Boggart Ram-Gang
cost zero! She dices onions and tunes up your
car! Play early, play often.

Broodbraid Elf
Constructed:
The poster child for Cascade. It has live up to
its hype. Just check out the top decks for Grand
Prix Barcelona. Need I say more.
Casual &
Multiplayer:
Not going to show up yet into the casual elf
decks, put it will. Most are mono green so the
red will be hard to do with certain builds.
Limited:
A 3/2 haste is always good for four mana, but
the Cascade ability really makes it great. Just
draft some of the best 3 or less casting cost
stuff and have fun.
Overall the best uncommon of the set is really
the best uncommon for Alara Reborn.

Magic The Gathering COTD: Identity Crisis
Welcome back readers today we have one of the
handful of enemy color aligned black/white cards
of Alara Reborn. Identity crisis with a whopping
color intensive mana cost of six forces a player
to remove all cards from his or her graveyard
from the game as well as removing that player’s
hand. This card can effectively nullify some
graveyard based strategies and remove opponent’s
threats from their hand with little chance of
their retrieval. This cards primary area of
playability falls squarely in Standerd,
occupying the B/W Kithkin deck with the true
card that help makes this card playable.
Windbrisk Heights activation into this card is
absolutely devastating and can be achieved early
enough in the game to be devastating. The
Sideboarding of this card in B/W tokens and its
variants as well as any deck running both black
and white is recommended as this card helps
limit other players threats significantly and
with little or no cost to you combined with
Hideaway lands. In casual and multiplayer this
card can devastate one player but most likely by
the time it’s activated a majority of the
players good cards have already been played
barring an alternate way of casting it. Limited
this card could ruin an opponents hand and be
the blow you need to swing the game in your
favor, although its color intensive and a rare.
Although powerful this card fills a certain
niche and does so quite well considering the
restraints inherent in similarly designed cards.
