A little disappointing until you get your
opponent down to 10, but you can play it cheap
and forget about it until then, or topdeck it
and essentially have a Scythe Tiger in the late
game that doesn't make you sack a land. Vamipre
decks like it, if only because they can only run
4 copies of Lacerator.
There's been so much talk about Vampire
Lacerator that I think this card has sort of
been overlooked. In a way she is the exact
opposite of the Lacerator - weaker early in the
game, stronger late - but there are definitely
situations where the Lacerator simply won't get
there, and she will. A card well worth
considering in any form of play.
Constructed:
Vampires don't really have a deck for themselves
in any high level formats. They just have a few
that show up that are good. If there was a
Vampire deck I would have 4 of these in it.
Casual & Multiplayer:
It just take one opponent to be 'Bloodied' for
it effect to kick in.
Limited:
If I was going black or two colors with black
this would be a good card to pick up extra
copies. It is a great early drop and great for
late game, unless they have life gain. Annoying.
Just like goblins there is a nice number of
Vampires in Zendikar.
Overall a great common. I also like the picture.

Today's card of the day is Gull Draz Vampire which
is a decent one mana creature for Black that can
be powered up noticeably when an opponent is at
or below half of their starting life total.
For Constructed and Casual I see this as an
adequate addition to a Vampire deck, but nothing
overly spectacular. It is a standard early game
1/1 for one mana, but unlike many of those
creatures (especially in
Black) it can be a decent topdeck later in the
game.
In Limited this is a worth playing several
copies of in any Black deck.
Many cards in the set support the same theme and
a 1/1 for one is often useful. I'd pick this
after removal in Booster and run all copies in a
Sealed deck without hesitation.
With Multiplayer the two factors to consider are
the an opponent clause which helps in larger
games and the specific ten life trigger which
makes it a bit weaker in the Two-Headed Giant
format.
