Today's card of the day is Aerie Bowmasters which is a four mana Green
3/4 with Reach and Megamorph for six.  This is not a very compelling card for Green as there are many other Reach or four mana options for Green in Standard alone that offer more to a deck than this.  It is unlikely to see much play in any Constructed format outside of perhaps online Pauper and is just meant for Limited play.

In Limited this is decent as a 3/4 with Reach for four though the Megamorph is only useful late game when there is a major excess of mana and this is topdecked.  The double Green in the base cost encourages more than a splash of the color, so as a midrange threat it is only worth playing in Sealed if the Green pool is solid.  For Booster it is a decent third or fourth pick after a Green rare and should work well at any stage of the game.

Aerie Bowmasters

I rather like this card's art - it reminds me of a lot of recent offerings from the Pathfinder RPG, and considering how well that game has done by combining elements from standard fantasy, weird fantasy, science fiction crossovers, the pulp era, Lovecraftian themes, and basically everything else, you could do worse as a model. And this card's also not bad once you actually get to its game text. Its "modes" mean that it has game against both early fliers and mid- to late-game dragons, and there are few "spider" variants over the years that can say that. For Standard play, it may suffer in comparison with Polukranos and the like (at least for a few more months), but more generally, I don't think you'd ever be ashamed to have this in your deck.
